My Definition of-

 submission:  The act of giving yourself over to another s care and guidance. It can be done slowly or quickly, all at once or gradually over time.

A Dominants responsibly to a submissive is to protect, guide, teach, and learn from the submissive daily. He must ask questions and get honest answers if the submissive is truly going to grow and progress.

A submissives responsibility to a dominant is to ask questions, learn , be honest, and think for herself. A robot or doormat is not a submissive.
