Well, it was such an eventful week... for my birthday my family went to the Ducks vs. Red Wings hockey game, in which we watched the game from a box suite with free food and and open bar. It was lots of fun, albeit exhausting(remind me that going out late on a work night is not a good idea!). Friday was Halloween, and I wore a very conservative, and adorable Snow White princess costume to work. I received many compliments from faculty and students. Friday night, "C" and I made reservations to "The Melting Pot" restuarant, and we had a really fun time. Neither of us had ever been there before, so it made it that much more special. I spent the night at her house that night, and hung out with her roommates and a friend who was in town from Santa Cruz. "C" and I went to my best friend's birthday/costume party last night, and I got to see some friends of his whom I rarely see anymore. My friend just turned 27, and has already had two surgeries for testicular cancer... so sad... He is a strong guy, and I know he will get through this battle soon. So, I just got home from an emergency visit to the dentist. I have had really bad pain/swelling the past few days, and couldn't take it anymore. So I had to have my bottom, left wisdom tooth pulled today. It took three rounds of novacaine injections and over an hour of sitting before it was just barely numb enough. So a few hard yanks, and it popped right out. So since there was a really bad infection under the tooth, the doc said I should be feeling a million times better in a few days, and that all my frequent illnesses should cease, too. Wish me luck with my healing, and happy early birthday to me (Oct. 29th is my bday btw!). :) |

Well I made it back alive from a weekend in Catalina Island with a group of marine biology students. We snorkled, kayaked, rock climbed, and all sorts of other fun stuff. Been forever... but lately just a lot of bad news...
Last Thursday my grandfather passed away- a man that lived with since the day I was born. Since I was a child he took care of me along with my parents, and on October 19th, he was overcome by his cancer of the lung and brain. He died at home. I received a phone call from my younger brother (age 19) around 10:30am that Thursday, while I was driving up to San Francisco with a few colleagues of mine for a conference. They rushed me to the Oakland Airport where I took the fastest flight home, and when I arrived, his body had been taken away by the Coroner's office already- I had missed my last chance to see him. Tears did not stop flowing down my face from that first phone call until the following day. My wife and family tried to comfort me, but to little avail. I knew this day would be coming, since his health was failing him, but I did not want to see him go while I was 6 hours away! The week was harsh, especially since I had to work half of it, and could only take off 3 bereavement days. His funeral was this past Friday, October 27th. I sobbed so hard I injured my back and can still hardly walk without pain. My mother has been a wreck ever since, especially since he was her only living family that had not estranged themselves. She is between shock and sadness constantly now, crying alone every chance she gets to help her pain. I hardly have the time to mourne, with my busy teaching schedule and such- it is terrible, but that is all I can do right now. I visited his grave site today, since it was my birthday and I turned 24... but he was not there for me, and it still makes me so sad to not have him around. Only 2 people between all my friends and family called me today... I guess everyone forgot about me. God, how I miss my Papa and wish he was here. Now with him being gone, I don't think we can keep our house anymore, since he split the bills. I hope we can pay the mortgage, or else I will be moving soon with basically no money to move with. I'm not sure how things will ever be the same now since he's gone... |

Now it looks pretty much complete for this phase. Still have months to go to fill in the rest of my back, but so far so good. I start teaching full time in about 4 weeks, so I have been swamped with writing lesson plans and the like. Plus a few other random events keeping me busy. New tattoo pic posted. Well, I survived my first Long Beach Gay Pride last night... my fiancee made me go so that I could be her "trophy wife" for the night. But, once she went on stage, the security gaurds took us to the VIP sitting area at the stage, and we watched her perform a few songs before we left for the night.
Overall, it was not as bad as I expected, but I do not plan on going to any more Pride events anytime soon... |

Well this past 4 days has been exhausting... I attended a national science teacher's conference and went to workshops, presentations, and saw exhibitors for about 14 hours a day (thursday till sunday). BUT, I did have a ton of fun getting lots of FREE stuff (CD-ROMS, lesson plans, posters, etc.). I brought my fiancee along because that way I can send her to get things for me while I am going to something else. We put our names in what seemed like every raffle possible, and we came back with a lot of great things! I won 2 leopard geckos in a terrarium as well as 2 tarantulas. My fiancee won fiddler crabs and hermit crabs. Live animals is much better to win than some kit from some company anyday! But, I also got to go to a talk from Bill Nye the Science Guy, as well as attend a dinner hosted by the Mythbusters (who took pics with me and autographed my dinner program!!!). My students will be SOOOOO jealous!! I am putting up a pic of the Mythbusters and myself on my profile so you can check it out! :) |

I just found out that I will be getting hired as a full time teacher for this coming Fall! It has been sooooo hard to find a job here, because the competition is so great... but the school that is hiring me is in a great District and was my first choice. Overall, my trip to the CA/NV stateline was fun... my fiancee and I stayed at Buffalo Bill's Resort and Casino, drank, gambled, and had lots of hot lesbian sex and BDSM. Well, last night I went to get more tattoo work done on my backpiece...my guy screwed up my appointment time, so he only did part of koi fish (the head, and fins). apparently i still need to put scales on the body of the fish before i can color the rest in, so i am going back in a couple weeks for that portion. Sunday night I went and got my dragon tattoo outline done (see the last pic in my profile). It took about 2 hours, and I will have another 6 hours or so before the dragon is complete, and an additional 2 hours to complete the koi fish. After all that, I still have to color in the rest of my back with clouds and water swirls...
Mentally I am still drained from this weekend's funeral stuff, and my fiancee is still having a hard time with things... |

Newest tattoo artwork done today on my back...see picture 14 on my profile here to view. I was sad though, because I went in to see my tat artist, and he tells me that he doesn't like the dragon piece that we had been working on afterall, and decided to spend some time redrawing it all (he should be done drawing it up in a week or so). I mean, I guess it's good that a tattoo artist doesn't just want to put up whatever on your skin, and I am happy he is spending quality time on my artwork. But, I was not able to get that piece done on my back, so instead, he did my lotus flower between my shoulder blades, and colored in my cherry blossoms. Since I am getting my entire back done eventually (within the next 6-8 months)...it will be long, painful, and expensive, but well worth it. I hope my next sitting with him will be for my dragon outline. :) |

Finally done with my Student Teaching, and getting ready to start substituting and/or work part time as a REAL teacher! The last 6 months has been hard not making any money and working full time, but I made it and that's all that matters now.
Since all that is done with and I am now credentialed, it's also time to continue planning my committment ceremony with my fiance/slave. She and I are marrying in August, and time is flying by us! We have been making lots of decisions lately and it's getting exciting. We meet with our wedding coordinator on Friday, and hopefully it will be fun, and not too stressful.
Also this coming week, I am getting my next large backpiece tattoo (a chinese dragon) to go on the right half of my back. I am excited to finally get to complete the outlining of my large pieces so that I can start having it colored in and completed. The entire thing should be outlined and colored by the end of the summer. :) |

Well...the conference was great! It was for the california science teacher organization, and I was able to go to lots of workshops and even go out into the mohave desert to collect trilobyte fossils. I was also lucky enough to go to a luncheon talk with the famous science fiction writer, Ray Bradbury (author of such books: the martian cronicles, farenheit 451, something wicked this way comes, etc.), and he even gave me an autograph and we took a picture together! maybe it sounds boring to most people...but i really enjoyed my bday weekend in palm springs.
we also say an exclusive preview screening of the new film, "Zathura" which was really good. it comes out in 2 weeks, but we were lucky enough to see it before it is released to the public.
oh yeah...i forgot to mention the really hot lap dance i got from a dancer at a local palm springs strip club! (thanks Matt and Ant) mwah! |

Well, I start my student teaching tomorrow at a local high school, teaching 2 periods of Life Science and 1 period of Biology. I am happy, yet slightly feeling nervous. I'll be ok anyways though, I'm sure. I also go back to my graduate classes tomorrow night as well, and continue my evening teaching job this week. My life will be VERY busy for the next 5 months, but there's not much I can do about it....
