Where to even begin? I've been involved in BDSM as an interest for years - since I was 16.
While my interests are wide and varied and my experience in almost all things BDSM is immense, at the end of the day it really coems down to the chemistry and interests of the people involved. Pushing limits is one of my big ones tho :)
I am not one of those who is just looking for "kinky sex" or a guy who thinks being dominant is equal to being an abusive asshole. I'm naturally dominant -- I walk into a room and people take notice. Without a shread of overblown ego I AM smarter than most anyone I've met, harder working, and more driven. That is just who and what I am... Being as big and strong as I am physically overpowering someone is easy ( remember: I'm 6'4" and 250 pds of muscle ) -- its the mental aspect of it that really intrigues me. Thats the twists and turns that make it intersting -- its also what I'm good at ;) I spent 6 years in the military honing that skill set.
I travel often for work and for pleasure and consider myself bi-costal. I still have property on the east coast ( a horse farm ), business' in DC and Miami, and a home in Los Angeles.
What bothers me about some is the thought process that leads one to believe just because we partake in a certain lifestyle in sexual proclivities that we are defined by it. I disagree.
As such:
I hike 3 - 4 days a week and do the tallest peak in the area once a week ( 10, 064 foot Mt. Baldy ). --- So please be able to spend some time outdoors ( hiking pics: nhrhikes.shutterfly.com )
I listen to NPR most of the time in the car ( if I'm not singing out loud like a crazy person along with a song! ) -- So please be interested in current events beyond who married whom in Hollywood.
I dont even own a TV, but there are a few shows I follow.
I also volunteer at a camp for teenage boys who are either already on probation or are going down the "wrong path". I lead them on outdoors adventures or just act as someone to talk to or look up to.
I'm relatively new to the west coast and still have a house on the east coast. Its a small working horse farm - so yes, I have 2 horses, 2 dogs, and 2 cats, as well as 1/3 of an acre of flowers and veggies. Anyone up for random trips to the North-East? :)
I read in a middle school once a week for a literacy program and volunteer at a food bank. So yes -- giving back to the community and to the world is important to me.
I have three college degrees and read voraciously -- while you don't have to have a college degree ( because its not necessary ), I value intelligence very highly, so please be able to hold a conversation :)
I've been to a few dozen countries all over Europe, parts of the mid-east, central america, and the carrabean. So please enjoy traveling! That includes weekend trips up to Seattle or a quick trip to Miami!
I like trying new things - new foods, new places, new adventures, new people - just about anything I'll try at least twice -- so you shouldn't be to set in whatever norm you have created.
I make my own wine and I enjoy wine -- however, I am by no means a wine snob ( see my first statement above :) ). I promote that people enjoy wine with whatever fits their fancy --- have your pinot grigio with nachos or your merlot with hot dogs if you want!
I grow flowers, I have a huge veggie garden, and I like musicals. I can talk about my emotions and dont follow sports. And no one who knows me would ever say that makes me any less of a man. If you disagree, c'est la vive ;)
I've done well for myself in business, but I dont let money rule anything. Give me a sunset and that special someone to hold my hand ANY day over things money can buy. I grew up very poor, so I know the value of a dollar.
