I'm a spirited, bubbly, strong minded person. I am also, however, a submissive. I use this title cautiously though. To me, the title submissive does not mean I will give myself completely to another person, at least not right off the bat. It also does not mean I will do as I am told all the time, or that I will worship a dom as my master from the get go. That is ridiculous to expect of any self respecting person. It does mean that with the right connection and trust I will respect you (if respected.) From that respect, I'll grow to rely and lean on you, to take shelter in you, and in turn my desire to please and follow you will also grow.
Carriage horses will run, seemingly wild, when there is slack on the reins. They do this not because they believe they can get away from their Master, but because they know that he (or she) will exert control only when needed. This control keeps them safe and gives them confidence. From this confidence a loving, trusting, brilliant relationship will result.
