I think it's better if a relationship starts off slowly. It can't just start off being called appropriately, because there's no respect in that. Sure, it can be fun to have everything right out the gates, but that is so boring after a time or two. I much prefer playing mind games, learning strengths and weaknesses, along with fears. There is just something about being able to see respect and trust in your partner's eyes. And the ability to evoke fear is one of my most cherished... because what good is a D/s(M/s?) relationship without that? It's a skill that takes ages to refine, you can't just learn everything about someone during a one night stand. What's the use of wasting my time to teach and train someone new every other weekend...

And as far as it goes, having a purely bedroom BDSM relationship is fine. I have the gift of understanding-sometimes it's best to project a normal appearance when we're around other people. But then again, having a leash in my hand to pull my partner around is amazing as well.
