I wonder if anyone else is bothered by the term total power exchange (TPE) ? My main gripe with it is the word "total". Unless someone has absolutely no limits and is willing to do anything the “master/mistress” commands, it just isn’t total. And if you are one of those that likes the term; Would you kill someone if commanded? Help rape someone? Kidnap a child? Have unprotected sex with someone you know has HIV? Give them all your money, savings, and work as a prostitute for them? Let them brand you, amputate a limb, or disfigure you? Let them kill you? Or order you to commit suicide?
Extreme examples I will grant you, but if you wouldn’t let them do all of the above, then you haven’t really given total power to someone else. Thankfully, you are still retaining some measure of control over your life. I was recently looking up online definitions of the term and one “educator” was saying that basically any play session was a “total power exchange”. I ‘m sorry, but while letting someone tie you up and spank you, is certainly an exchange of power, it doesn’t come close to being “total”.
