My attraction to the D/s Lifestyle is the trust. We spend so much of our time building and maintaining these suits of armour that we wear to protect ourselves from each other. There's something powerful about the moment we decide to take it off and lay ourselves bare and make ourselves vulnerable to another. Physically, mentally, emotionally vulnerable. Achieving that kind of vulnerability requires intense trust. That kind of surrender, that kind of submission, seems strange to those who don't understand it. But really, it is the most beautiful of intimacy I can imagine. That is what draws me to it.

My main kink is hypnosis for the same reasons. The surrender, the trust. The voluntary vulnerability. The willingness to expose one's true self. All of this works best, of course, as part of a genuine, honest relationship. Whether that relationship is romantic in nature or purely platonic is not necessarily important. What is important is getting to know and understand one another, so as to better enjoy and share the experience.

I've got a wonderful and beautiful partner, but we do not scratch every single itch for each other. As such, we've decided to open things up and explore those interests independently. For my part, I'm hoping to explore the D/s dynamic from the other side. I've dabbled in the past, but I want to know what it feels like to really drop my own guard and put myself in someone else's hands. I am not -- and I can't stress this enough -- a masochist, but if your approach is more sensual and psychological, we're off to a good start.
