I have this bad habit of thinking Doms/Dommes always have to be the embodiment of self-control. For that reason, when I don't feel in control of my life, I don't feel like playing or dominating anyone.
Well, in an effort to show Dommes are not perfect, I am going to come out with it. I realized a few days ago that I am a compulsive overeater. I realized this is considered an addiction when I saw a clip from a documentary on YouTube of a really, really obese lady. When she described her irrational overeating as a disease, an addiction (meaning it falls outside of will power, even outside of sanity itself) I realized I knew how she felt.
I am very educated with regards to nutrition and get all my fruits and vegetables in every day. I also work out at least 3 times per week. However, this past year I have gained a noticeable amount of weight because I fell back into my life-long habit of eating for all sorts of non-hunger related reasons (or sometimes no reason at all). It's not a case of willpower. If it were that easy, people wouldn't have drinking or gambling problems either. The worst part is, everyone HAS to eat, so while someone wouldn't egg an alcoholic to have just one drink, it is common for people to push a slice of cake into you!
Well, I attended my first Overeaters Anonymous meeting tonight. It was amazing to meet so many other people (many of whom are not obese either) who struggle with this. I even had friends on Facebook email me and secretly confess that they struggle with eating when they are not hungry all the time! I don't mean occasional Thanksgiving binges. I mean people (some big, some small) who struggle with it constantly. I am not alone!
I feel it is important that a Dom/Domme be someone you can look up to. Someone who can take care of themselves much less take care of a sub. So, since I already have so much other stuff on my plate right now (moving house, video work) I think I will refrain from playing with any new subs until I have gotten into a healthier space. I don't know how many months that will take.
It's not easy to admit weakness, but I would hope that this may be helpful to anyone else struggling with this addiction, or to anyone who thinks Doms/Dommes have it all figured out. They don't! Wish me luck!

This will probably be my last journal entry for a few months. I was just approached by a former co-worker to do some creative consulting for her new start-up company. Plus, we are unexpectedly moving (an opportunity arose that we could not pass up). By October's end, we'll be closer to central SD which will be nice.
Since my school workload is hectic as it is, I've decided I need to take a short break from the lifestyle to focus on academic and career goals. I hope to come back around the start of the new year after I am done with final exams and a few trips visiting family. |

Anyone out there considering contacting me, understand that though I am new as a pro, I have been in the lifestyle for a couple of years. I understand that doesn't make me a veteran, but the whole reason I went "semi-pro" is because I value my time. Because I already have a career in a different field, plus school, plus a boyfriend and a regular sub... Well, I promised myself I would be very selective with clientele.
I have no problem turning down a potential client, as in the end it still needs to be fun for me. Otherwise, I'd go back to being entirely unavailable like I was only last week.

A couple of supposedly submissive, respectful subs on here ended up being very flaky to me this week. Normally, the people I interact with are very cool, sincere people like me. Weeks like this though, it's very discouraging. I am a real person. How can you think it is okay who behave like a flake to someone to is kind enough to take the time to talk with you? Ugh.
Two more people to add to the "shit list" which is a local blacklist of rude men my Domme friends and I share with each other so we know not to waste our time with said people. It's sad because my attractive, nice Domme friends have at least one person to add every month.

I just did my first night of training for a civic citizen emergency response program. It was pretty basic overview of classes of fires, putting out a fire and first aid. I am looking forward to a few classes from now when we actually get to put out a fire. Volunteering certainly has its perks sometimes. |

Well, your geeky little Miss was whisked away on a fantastic coastal train-ride up the Pacific Northwest to attend PAX up in Seattle last week by an old bf, Red. It's a big gamer convention, for those not in-the-know. Mostly, I was there for pleasure, but a gaming company I have worked with before hired me to shoot some video for them. I also competed in the Rock Band tournament with a band Red played with last year.
Unfortunately, a bunch of people ended up getting Swine Flu at the convention. I am not sure if that is what I got, but our entire Rock Band got sick and it was an awful 2-day train trip back with a few other sick people. We found out after we got on the train that it may be swine flu. YAYYYY!
Anyway, I am back sort of. I have tons of stuff to catch up on now that I am a bit better (though still very coughy) so it will take me awhile to catch up on emails.

Well, I am sick. :-(
Went to Disneyland last week with the bf's family. I seem to have contracted a much milder version of whatever he was sick with at the time. I missed lots of fun things this weekend, but am thankful to the bf for watching over me and buying some cool DVDs to watch on TV since I was stuck indoors.
I watched the first two episodes of the original Star Trek series (the Blu-Ray is awesome). I loved this show as a kid, but didn't know how boring the first few episodes are. Almost fell asleep!
I also watched Mulan for the first time and the first few episodes of Star Trek DS9 which I really liked. I hear it gets better starting in season 3 too, as that is when Ronald D. Moore stepped in (the man behind the new version of Battlestar Galactica).
Anyhoo, I am hoping I will be feeling well enough to play Dungeons & Dragons with the guys Monday night. I definitely need to be well enough to go to the San Diego Femme Domme Dinner on Tuesday night.
My bug (DanielH620) is unfortunately working that night so I will probably go alone (unless my good friend BDLeather decides to attend with me. Either way, I will still have fun and it will be great to see some of my lifestyle friends. [update: the bug did manage to come with me after all- YAY!]

I jumped on the bed in relief. It had been a long day and it felt good to lay down. The boy followed soon after. I have been having a blast in England. I'm in Liverpool right now and I think it's a pretty fun town. One of my favorite parts of the trip has been meeting and making friends with new people. Some people have been from CM, some are acquaintances of the bf or his family and some people we've met at random. We even ran into a couple from San Diego while doing a walking tour in Bath. We ended up going out for a pint together. Tomorrow we begin 3 days in Edinburgh, Scotland. I can't wait.

Having such a blast so far. Leaving London today for Bath, then Stonehenge, then Cardiff. Then a train up to Liverpool to hang out with the boyfriend's friend. Then to Edinburgh for the weekend, and then a plane back to Luton to see the boyfriend's family one last time. Then two final nights in London. What a long and whirlwind trip, and it has been so fantastic.
footpetnorth has been the only submissive out of three I've spoken with on CM who didn't chicken out and whom I have met in person. Sometimes subs get cold feet in the States too, so I know it's an occasional occurence. It makes me appreciate the guys who don't psyche themselves out though, and can just do the bold thing and have some fun. I may see footpetnorth again when we're up north.
I've made some awesome friends on this trip, as well as caught up with some old ones. I'll be sad to leave the island, and I can't wait to come back (possibly in Summer 2010). On that trip, I will probably also try to hit Dublin and Paris while I am in the area.
Having said that, I am starting to become very homesick for the California sunshine, and my loved ones, namely sdguy98, pnkbelladonna and my bug, danielh620. Some of the first things I plan to do when I get back are give everyone lots of hugs and kisses, eat a burger at Western Steakburger in San Diego, and go swimming (not necessarily in that order).

I didn't even know London had something like Pedestal. Thankfully footpetnorth here on CM invited me to come check it out with my bf. It was tons of fun, very large and I was happy to say I experienced my first multiple-boy foot trampling!

Our private play party last night was pretty awesome. We had about twice as many guests this time around and everyone loved our new house/setup. I uploaded our new dungeon pics and they'll show up toward the end of my profile photos soon, I hope. A few people canceled at the last minute, but it was bit of a relief, as our guest count was getting unmanageable. So many thanks go to BDLeather and Danielh620 for keeping a very close eye on everyone and preventing a few mishaps before they occurred. <3
As I expected, I did not play as much as I would have liked because I was too distracted with hosting, making sure people were safe, guiding Danielh620 in his first houseboy servant gig, and trying to come up with ways to feed people. I did play with Danielh620 and a couple I know, so I definitely did not feel left wanting at the end of the night. Scripps68 gave me a head massage and played with my hair while MistressXahDee sipped coffee before her long drive home. Great way to end the night.
Despite a big blue carpet stain (washable marker, thankfully) and a miscommunication in emails resulting in only one guest bringing food, the party was a huge success.
I feel hung over today despite only have one small glass of champagne. Hehe. Must be Top Drop. I managed to party pretty hard last night and it was a blast. Everyone commented before they left that the party was really fun, there were plenty of cool people to play with and that they hoped to get invited back. Looks like we won't be needing to look for any newcomers to our future parties for awhile.

Both MistressXahDee and I have only been topping in the scene for about a year and a half. We're still figuring out how we like to top, and she recently asked me about what to do about a new sub who didn't check-in with her when he went out of town to visit family.
Also CCd in this email were two Domme friends: Sam (Xaiyza) and Bella, PnkBellaDonna.
I thought I'd share my answer here:
Here's my general approach to a sub making mistakes. I give them one
chance when they mess up. I *tell* them they only get once chance and
they must learn from it. If they do not, they get punished.
I also make it verbally clearn to him/her that I do *not* like wasting
my time having to punish someone, so if he/she gets punished often I
will most likely get tired of it and stop seeing the person altogether.
When that happens, it's not pretty. Full ignore/block/etc.
Having said that, I have never had to punish any subs often except for
boy matt. Sam, I don't know if you played with him or how often, but I
know you also dealt with his flakiness. It was infuriating because it
was so disrespectful, even if accidental on his part. I've learned
since then that if I see signs of flakiness, unwillingness to do
assignments or overall insubordination, I just pull out as quickly as
possible because it's not gonna be worth the headache. Being served by a boy is supposed to be a pleasant experience for both parties. Some people like taming "brats," but both you and I, MistressXahDee have agreed we do not.
Danielh620 is my regular sub now and he's a reaaally good boy. His
infractions are so minor, that I usually wait until he's collected
about 3 or 4 (this takes a couple of weeks) and then I punish him for
all of it at once. Unfortunately, the boy likes everything so it's hard
to find punishments. Last time, I made him write everything he did
wrong 20 times each. Then he held the paper up to the wall with his
nose for thirty minutes in another room while I cuddled with Red.
Knowing he made me unhappy was the biggest part of that punishment and
I felt very bad doing it to him. I really felt like saying, "This hurts
me more than it hurts you." I was happy to give him a big hug afterward
and he definitely learned from it.
Recently, I didn't want to waste time punishing him because he's more
useful in my home when he's cleaning, and my time with him is limited
each week as it is. So instead, I got him worked up and aroused and
made him think I was going to go down on him. I caressed him with my
hand and told him all the things I was going to do to him. When he
couldn't stand it anymore, I slapped his dick really hard instead and
reminded him of the bad things he did and why he didn't deserve it. He
said, "Yes Miss, I understand" and that was that.
Anyhoo, hope that helps you figure out a punishment. If you think this
shiny new sub can't stand being ignored by you, you could do that as
punishment too. However, I learned with boy matt this method often
doesn't work if he's already obviously not keeping your happiness in
his thoughts for most of the day (which your boy isn't if he forgot to
check up with you while out of town). Let him know that his "shininess"
will wear off all too quickly if he doesn't shape up. If your warnings
and punishments don't work, do yourself a favor and chuck him. You're a
beautiful domme and a really fun lady to be around in general (even my
Dom friends adore you) so why waste your time when there are so many
who would do anything to be with you?

I had a marvelous first session with the robot
on Wednesday evening. He arrived in the late afternoon a bit tardy due

Cuddles and Candles!

What a great time we've had. I'm lazy so I'm not gonna go into incredible detail (or at least, as extensively as I would like) because it would take too long, but I spent the entire weekend with Miss Sam (Xaiyza), my D, and his friend/ex Miss C who was in town for the weekend. I need a massage...
OF COURSE an engineer comes by my desk right when I decide to take a break and post on Live Journal. Haha. I work at a technology company so no one cares anyway. Dang. I've hung out with Xaiyza three nights in a row. Kinda funny. I'm really glad D and her hit it off too. They share a similar upbringing. I think we could all make great friends. Once we finished dinner, D and I made a random run to "Dom Depot."

Feeling sleepy but goooood...
So I had a really good time at B's party this afternoon to evening. D was still at his LAN party around 10 p.m. so I texted Xaiyza from the party and we went and hung out at a hookah bar she suggested. It's so therapeutic to hang out with another domme friend. I talked out my issues with how to handle boy matt's consistent tardiness with assignments and just speaking about it to another female who could empathize was incredibly helpful to me. I'm going to go with a combination of her suggestion and a toned down version of what I was thinking. She suggested I not distance myself, and instead focus on finding a proper punishment that will make him really learn his lesson on the importance of timeliness. I think it may take a few tries to find a punishment that produces results.
D, X, and new friends N and O and I went to Ellie's NextGen meeting on Friday night. Someone in the discussion mentioned how it's tiring to be a domme sometimes because you always have to be "on." A sub can mess up, skip a task or do a sub-par job when he or she is not feeling up to it. But, the dom/domme has the responsibility to always be on top of things. Personally, I think that is the case because I am doing a disservice to my sub if I let him/her slip without punishment or management. He/she, at best, does not improve and at worst, begins to get spoiled. It's like owning a dog or, like X was saying tonight, like having a kid sometimes. You have to be monitoring their progress at all times. Not to say I am complaining, but I know some subs read this blog and I feel they may find it helpful to hear what it's like on the other end. In the right relationship or dynamic, it is all very worth it for the domme and hopefully for the sub too. :-)
I know boy matt wants to learn the world of submission, and this will be his first experience being punished for a consistent infraction. Considering his rate of missed deadlines, I have a feeling it will take a few methods to set him straight, and possibly at increasing intensity. Ultimately, as I said at the NextGen meeting on Friday, I love to domme partially because I like to help someone become a better person, so I should point out this search for effective punishment is done out of love, not bitterness or spite. That's not healthy!
Oh, so I said my conclusion was a combination of X's suggestion to focus on finding a good punishment and a lighter version of one of my own ideas. I'm going to try to not cop out and distance myself from the situation. I like spending time with boy matt, so I shouldn't deprive myself just to make a point. However, I think some sort of regimented play schedule could be useful. Maybe a regular day to meet every other week on a specified weeknight. Plus, perhaps an occasional weekend day or something. That should average out to maybe 3 or 4 times a month? It will take awhile to work something out we both can handle, but I think that could help us out. For me, I'll know when I need to set aside time to prepare for a session (agenda, toys, etc.) and tidy up/wind down after one. For him, he will know in advance when he needs to set aside time for his assignments.

One of the best weekends ever.

New Latex Dress for Saturday
My very first latex dress arrived today. I was surprised how good it looked. I just had to take some pictures. Past few days...
Haven't updated in awhile. Let's see... Thursday I met a boy who contacted me on CM. We talked over coffee for a couple of hours. Lolita Dresses:
I just bought the cutest off-white, lacy lolita dress that presses tightly on the breasts, has poofy sleeves and flows down to my knees. It's very sexy and D agreed, but it was still a hard choice. Why? Because it was almost TOO cutesy. It didn't go with my hair, haha. Now I have to find some white, heeled, open toed shoes to go with it. I figure if I wear my hair in barrettes that may help.

Okay so I've only been to about 4 play parties. D and I played with a beautiful and geeky girl (H) and we got to watch a collaring ceremony. The food and drink were good and there was very little ego to deal with. Many kudos to Domina Angelina and Goddess Soma for putting together such a great party. Went to the femme domme dinner with B. It was lots of fun. Sat with Mistress Ellen,
her boy and another boy, G. G was very flattering and helpful to me. I liked
him. Also saw K there who has recently been meeting with my D. Bob and
Caryl were also there and it was wonderful to see them in addition to
the wonderful Miss Maeve who coordinates the dinners. Saw a few
familiar faces as well so I was finally able to put names to the
visages.
I'm
finally starting to feel comfortable in the dominant realm and I had
alot of good conversations. This is probably the best femme domme
dinner I've been to. I was glad B could be there for it too. I think he
enjoyed it, so hopefully he will go to more and meet other dommes and
subs. I know he knew a couple of people there so we both had someone to
catch up with.
I am really starting to love this world. I was
flirting with the waiter whenever I walked past him, but ultimately I
think I am starting to realize I have little interest in vanilla
relationships/sex now. Caryl said something really helpful to me. She
said this lifestyle can be addictive, so you have to make an effort to
balance all aspects of your life so no area suffers. I will definitely
take that to heart because right now the domme lifestyle is consuming

to the return of sunlight, I was able to turn my lunch-hour walk into a
walk to the gym and back. I lifted weights while I was there. All in
all, I got a good hour and half of exercise. As I was walking, basking
in the sunlight, endorphins coursing through my brain, I felt so good.
Vivaldi's Four Seasons (Autumn) was playing on my iPod. I was so happy

Getting back on my diet and the sunshine
has really been making me feel extra good. I am happy with how I look
now, but I would really like to tone up and get stronger, more fit.

loved my life, but despite some crazy stuff going on at work, my
strengthening bond with D and my exploration of dominance are really
improving my life.

So I used a racquetball to do my acupressure trick last night since I didn't have a tennis ball at home. It turned out to be even more painful since a racquetball is smaller. I watched an episode of Angel whilst laying on the ground with the ball under me in various regions under my lower back and upper buttocks. I've been having back pain lately. I believe it's stress-induced muscle spasms. The doctors aren't quite sure. humperdink has been a good little sub and visited me a couple of times to rub my back for a long time, which seems to help somewhat.
Hmm. What else? The four of us went to a discussion group and out for dessert afterwards. kitten spilled the teapot top into my cup, which was mortifying, but I've been in too much pain lately to even think about administering any sort of corporal punishment. humperdink dismissed himself at the end of the night in an equally embarrassing way. Oh well, it's not like the BF and I are commited to training them, so you take the good with the bad. It's the thought that counts.

I've been reflecting alot on my current lifestyle in light of these back pains. I'm going to have to take things easy for about a month and try to get better. ClubX Halloween Play Party

I had him make us some veggie trays as a snack despite Kitten and the bf's insistence on going to Denny's. Heh. Gotta get those healthy fruits and vegetables in!
I graded humberdink's essay and wrote some comments. His grade was B minus. Not bad for his first one. Hopefully his next one will be wittier. I gave him a new assignment: write a post session report on how he felt about the whole thing. What he liked/disliked. What emotions he felt and what was going through his mind. We'll see how he does...

Been having a bit of fun lately with the kitten and a subby boy I met recently. This is fun, but I'm having trouble keeping up with so many e-mails here on CM. I'm not answering most of them, since people from out of the area don't seem to get that I am not going to relocate them. I also hate one sentence e-mails. Do you subs really think I am going to waste my time replying when you haven't even made an effort to tell me who you are and what you want? The disrespect!

Went to The Crypt tonight, as well as Pleasures and Treasures. Purchased a black, latex, zip-up corset halter top and a ruffled black skirt. Will match nicely with my tall black heeled boots.
