en ti tle ment :  the belief that one is inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment  Why do so many today think that their wants and needs fall under this definition of the the word  entitlement  ? Have we as a culture, and people become so selfish and self centered that we think what we want comes before everything and everyone else? This Includes our loved ones and our children. I prefer the definition below: en ti tle ment :  the amount to which a person has a right  Most used to work hard for their  rights . Many gave their life s for those  rights . These  rights  are earned not given for free. In daily vanilla life we must work for the money to buy the items we think of as  rights . We are responsible and duty bound to provide our children, not let our parents or the state raise them as we party and have fun. In a vanilla or lifestyle relationship we should work hard to get the  rights  to what our partners give us by providing for their needs. In the lifestyle we earn the rights just as much as in any other way. Our duty to our partner is to provide them with the fulfillment of their needs. This goes for Dominants and submissives; both have needs. So many in the lifestyle only follow the first definition. The amount that is your  right  is earned even when it appears to be freely given.
