I feel that everyone deserves respect. If I am not interested in you I will politely tell you and wish you luck in your search. Also I will message someone just to say what is going on type of things as well. It is not necessary to be rude if you are local and I say how is it going. Have common courtesy if you are not interested just say so rather than block the person and not say anything or being completely rude about it. I guess common courtesy is a lost art.
