Rochester Kink Society is a member-run organization for BDSM enthusiasts in Rochester, New York. We are dedicated to openness, tolerance, safety, and education. We do not discriminate by gender or sexual orientation. We want to create an environment in which anyone can safely learn, practice, or discuss BDSM and related kink.
We have a fantastic dungeon furnished with a wide range of furniture and equipment including St. Andrew's crosses, bondage stations, suspension equipment, cages, whipping posts, medical tables, a relaxing social area and a good sound system. More importantly, though, is the incredible variety of membership interest: we have skilled individuals in a number of areas including rope and chain bondage, whips, floggers, wax, electrical devices, fire, and ice (just to name a few). These members, along with experts brought in from around the country, share their skills and learnings in regularly held workshops.
In addition to our educational outreach, we host regular parties in our facility, a premier dungeon in upstate New York. During parties, we have dungeon monitors staffing the dungeon to ensure play is safe, sane, and consensual. We strive to maintain our legal and ethical standing, and ensure member confidentiality.
Those interested in joining are asked to attend a munch (luncheon) or social so that we can get to know each other. Please see the calendar for munch and social dates. (Special arrangements may be made for those visiting Rochester from distant lands. Please contact us as early as possible if this applies.)

The Rochester Erotic Arts Festival will take place April 24 - 26, 2009 at the Radisson Riverside Hotel
(formerly the Clarion Riverside Hotel), in Rochester, NY. The juried art show will feature erotic art from
around the world in a variety of mediums. The Festival kicks off at 9 PM Friday with a Naked Lady Sundae
Buffet. Art show, workshops, performances, live music, and vendors will run 12 - 6 PM on Saturday, with the
Artist Reception and Extravaganza dinner show at 7:00. The evening will feature Aloft Aerial Dance, Pyromorph
Body Painting Show, and the White Elephant Burlesque Society.
Following the dinner show, RKS will hold a play-party at our
dungeon. A dinner ticket will get nonmembers
into RKS for free. A dinner ticket from an RKS member will earn RKS
$10.00. The theme is masquerade so dress your best and feel free to
enjoy the anonymity that comes with the theme ^_^
Sunday at the Festival will begin with a grand breakfast buffet from 10 - 11:30. The art show, performances,
vendors, live music and additional workshops are open from 12 - 6 PM. A Rope Bondage Demo is
scheduled at 1 PM, and the Tattoo Exhibition will be from 2-3 PM.

RKS has been polling our members about what workshops and theme parties the members would like to see RKS host in the next 12 months. Well - we also want to hear from potential members. So - if you were to be enticed to come on out to RKS - what would bring you out?
Below are two lists, one of workshop topics, one of possible theme parties. Please let us know which three workshops you'd most like to see (and you may want to indicate if you'd like to see a beginner class or an advanced class on the topic) and which three theme parties you think would be ultra cool.

Series! These are free to all members and guests! (Please note - you
must write rks@rochesterkinksociety.com to get directions and be
approved if you have not been to our space already.)
This 101 will be held on March 14th, at 6 p.m. Regular play party follows, and guest fees apply.
Dealing with Lifestyle Stress
a/k/a Dom-drop and Sub-drop
Presented by Griffin.
Have you ever done a great scene, just to find yourself upset,
depressed, or in a funk the next day? It might be top-drop (dom-drop)
or sub-drop. The first part
of this workshop will explain dom-drop and sub-drop phenomena and
answer any questions about its nature.
The second part of the workshop will feature some hands-on
relaxation exercises:
cha (lower stomach) breathing while standing to calm pulse, candle
meditation for clearing the mind, and couple or assisted meditation in
which the dom helps
to calm the submissive. The workshop will finish up with another
opportunity for questions.
Please bring blankets or thick pillows on which to sit for
meditation— the cement floors are cold and hard. Also, you may not wish
to wear jeans or tight clothing to the 101. Loose clothes or gym
clothes are fine for sitting in
meditation.
