In the BDSM lifestyle, I believe submissives are the other half of Dominants. Without one, you canot have the other.
They are not a lower lifeform nor merely objects (though for short periods this can be fun). We are all real people with real feelings. It requires great trust on all sides, with the building and retaining of that trust being of the utmost importance.
Although the exploration of the physical limits are an obvious side of BDSM, I feel that the emotional side of the relationship between Dominant and submissive, is what really makes BDSM work.
It is through exploration, guidance and teaching, that trust and devotion is grown and kept. Dominants should know the importance of being guided and taught, through exploration, to the needs and wants of a submissive. In the picture you will see I am smoking, though I have given that up, I have no problems with others who do smoke. I describe myself as a Dominant brat, I do tease and love to get to know people as friends before anything else.
