I am living in the desert at the moment and its just not feasible to expect to meet someone from here. In the interim, I would like to make friends via CM, and who knows what the future holds? Thank Y/you E/everyone who keeps in touch. Peace

If it makes Me feel good, will you do it? (of course you will)

ok, I got a power generator, and for the first time in months, got power.....yay! The first one was junk but so far so good on this one. I found a kewl friend who has internet and a router out here, so with that, I have online access any time I want.  There a tons of snowbirds and people out here now; its a drag in a way. But then some of them are really kewl folks. I may have to find a more isolated area though soon, cuz city slickers drive me nuts. ARRRRrrgg!

Sounded like a bomb went off out here about 20 minutes ago. Probably someone celebrating.  Hope no one got hurt. Happy New Years' E/everyone!

Ah...Christmas day...I spent the night in a "lender" camper last night, it was much noisier than the hill where My original camp is, and the camper has big gaps in the door. Its windy today here, and so spent most of the day reading an Adventurer Magazine I snagged in Montana, since I do not enjoy wind very much. Ironic, you say? Because I ride motorcycles? Bah! I have a choice in that situation! Anyway, tonight I will treat myself to a cup of tea and some Christmas cookies that the Christmas cookie fairy secretly left at my old camp. Yum! PS: I'd like to know who made the naughty list this year; can anyone tell me where to get a copy of that?

Well, its been almost 3 months roughing it, and that's what I came here for, but I am thinking of getting a little camper for some creature comforts. What do you think? Merry Christmas to all and thank you everyone for the messages you send...sorry I cant get to everyone right away due to time restraints (no pun) for internet access, but do appreciate and am thankful to all of you for your kind words, compliments and the occasional naughty comments. PEACE

It only rained an inch or two, all through the night. Most of it landing on Me. So off to the laundry mat to wash and dry clothes and sleeping gear. No wonder the Wiley's were howling and yipping (more like laughing) last night before the big storm...

Well, it got cooler...about 70 something and it rained a little this morning too. My homemade hut is nice and warm and waterproof, so no worries there...however, tourists keep walking through My camp and sometimes helping themselves to My water tank.  City dwellers are so arrogant. Hmmpft! So I am re-locating My camp to a more private area...gonna miss the view though. The kitty is still alive, even after she crapped in My bed last week, in the middle of the night. I dont think more than 60 seconds went by before I was AWAKE and had it cleaned up; the odor was so offensive it would have woke the dead. I told her I am going to get a nice, warm, fluffy, comfy bed for her, and then wait until she is in a nice, deep, coma-like slumber, and then drop My pants and assault HER olfactory with a nice lump of CRAP in HER bed! hahahaha! A-hem. I think W/we have come to an agreement..she hasnt had another "accident" since our little chat.

Well, if thats the worst of My worries, then the week isnt going so bad after all. Happy Turkey Day E/everyone! Thanks for all the nice notes!

Some updates: Finally heard the coyotes howling Saturday  night for the first time since I've been back. Sunday got hot by a hellacious wind storm that lasted all day. My camp held up, however my bed was full of sand. The wind blew so hard it created sand drifts. Not fun, but part of the deal living in the desert. Some mornings are so quiet and still when I wake up that it seems I am alone on the planet.....Until someones pack of dogs start barking, or a hellacious wind storm hits.
Also, while at the underground showers last week I heard a mew in the bushes and discovered a little kitty that someone had dumped. She hadn't been there very long, was very scared and skittish, but otherwise healthy. She is the new addition to the camp and I have named her Salty Lady. She is grey with beautiful amber eyes.  She has overcome her skittishness and has replaced it with being a pain in the arse......like any fun kitten should be.
