Attended a rather amazing clubFEM party last night.
Learned about the Scottish slapper called a lochgelly, which was developed for punishing school children in Scotland. That thing packs a real wallop!
I also learned about good old fashioned English caning, though it's probably not an activity I will invest in. Still, it's always interesting to see a veteran (20+ years) domina go old school on somebody.

So, I was messaging with a sister domina today on the statistics of the domme/slave dynamic in America today.
(Keep in mind, these figures vary somewhat depending on which study you are quoting)
From what I understand:
About 30% of men are a degree of submissive/slave
Although studies show 95% of men have had fantasies of being dominated by a woman. (This is what keeps online/phone only fin/pro-dommes in business)
Of the 30% of s-type men, about half are married or in relationships (the statistics of how many of those are still seeking an extra-marital mistress I could not find).
Now, for women about 15% are dominant (the studies that include dominant leaning switches are higher).
Of that 15%, about half are married or in relationships (again, the statistics for those still seeking additional d/s relationships aren't available - though some pro/lifestyle-dominas I know who are seeking, are in fact married).
Of that remaining 7.5%, about 1/8 (1%) are lifestyle or pro-dominas (I'm not including little girls who can act the part over the phone or by messaging for the right price, but have never held a flogger in their life, or seen a real dungeon). The remaining dominant women are probably deemed as just another "domineering bitch" by society, and don't realize what they truly are unfortunately.
It would seem that available, trained dominas are in short supply, right?
Now here's the kicker!
Of the ~15% of available male subs/slaves, how many are active in the lifestyle?!?!?

So ~1.5% of the total, which means trained femdoms realistically are about equal in number to male subs who are active in the lifestyle community.

Today is a very sad day.....the best local dungeon in Dallas is closing it's doors to the public. The reason behind it is even worse, since it involves cowardice, and malice from within the bdsm community. A community that is supposed to be based on trust, honesty, and honor.....
My heart is breaking, at the loss of such a beautiful, welcoming, and accepting place. A home away from home. The amazing domina who owns and runs it is also bowing out of the community gracefully, for her own safety and sanity. I don't blame her, but am so angry that women who work so hard to carve a niche for themselves, and excel at it, are so feared by old school misogynistic bullshit, and that they turn it into something truly ugly and juvenile in nature.

Another year of Beyond Vanilla in the bag!
I learned so much this year, in concept and technique. From flogging, mummification, alternative bondage, and wax play to connection with your bottom and non-physical punishment.
The instructors this year were so passionate about their craft and the lifestyle, it was purely inspiring!

Well, September surrender was amazing! I learned so much from.professional kinksters who taught the classes, and demoed in the dungeon.
The amazing domina, princess Kali (who founded kink academy) was probably my favorite teacher. From humiliation, to the dynamics of training a submissive servant, she was thorough and enthusiastic.
I even learned about new kink I want to try, like Blaise wrap suspension, self suspension, and playing with proprioception.
I also learned new tricks for my violet wand, and bought some amazing new toys. My favorites would probably be my body pad conductor for indirect electroplay, my new sensation play flogger with three detachable heads, and the amazing toys from b&d stainless, one of which I designed myself.
I can't wait to play at WICKD this Friday, and develop my new skills. Life truly is wonderful!!! |

Goodness, I think September must be the official National Kink Month. In the next several weeks I will be attending September Surrender, Dominion's 1 year anniversary (it's a local public dungeon), and then Beyond Vanilla!! I have very vivid dreams, and last night inspired a new scenario. Don't know if anyone remembers the movie "name of the rose", with Sean Connery, and Christian Slater. They were monks in medieval times, solving a mystery.
In the movie, the young Christian Slater monk is seduced by a peasant girl, and they have a primal love scene on the floor of the kitchen, never speaking a single word to each other.

My mind is racing over a scene I am planning with a friend this Friday at the Women In Charge of Kink and Domination event.
I love it when a bottom brings creativity and enthusiasm to our power exchange. I find I bring so much more to it, both energy-wise and preparation-wise.
