It's that time of year. Time to spend a week alone in the woods. No tv, no cell, no computer. A rifle, a bow, a good book, and the world to entertain me. I will watch the world awaken every morning. The greys of the night dissapear and horizon starts to lighten. The birds take to early morning flight when the reds, greens, oranges.. all the fall colors appear from the darkness. I love the 5 degree temperature drop 10 minutes before twilight. I will be watching our earth come alive and go to bed. The stars at night are big and bright... when you get out of the city.
I will have time to think, relax, contemplate the past year. Identify all those things I want to improve on next year. Hopefully I will figure a way to actually make it happen.
All this while waiting on dinner to walk into the open. For those who dont approve of hunting, I say take off your leather belts, your leather vests, your leather boots and quit eating meat. I do my meat shopping in the wild, not Kroger. |
