I live in a small city in the middle of nowhere in southwest Michigan. I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Major Depressive Disorder, which make simple things like going out of the house or doing the dishes far more difficult than they ought to be. I have been married to the same loving woman since September 15, 2001. We have four beautiful little girls together, three redheads and one coppery brunette. Ok, big obvious broad strokes out of the way. What else to say... I am a gamer. I play video games and primarily enjoy modern western RPGs like Mass Effect, though I do enjoy good action/adventure games like Saints Row 2 & 3. Dishonored got me to enjoy a first person pov (not counting Fallout 3, since I primarily used VATS). I enjoy hobbyist board games like Catan, Lords of Waterdeep, and Seven Wonders. I'm a member of a gaming group that meets about twice a month to play such games. I'm also way into tabletop roleplaying games. I started playing D&D when I was 9, and since then TRPGs have been a major hobby. I've played all sorts from Star Wars to World of Darkness. I'm not currently actively playing or running anything, but it has always even an important hobby to me. Perhaps once my daughters are a little older I'll get a family game going. My spirituality/faith has always been an important dimension of my life. I was raised Catholic but always felt a wider spiritual reality. This led me to occultism during high school and for several years following. Ten years ago I had a conversion experience and returned to the Catholic Church. I grasped onto the strictures and the discipline they gave me with great alacrity. I have been fortunate that my wife has been on the same path as I have. When we met, she was also into the occult, and when I converted, she followed. It was my wife (whom I refer to as the Pretty) who started this exploration into BDSM and an ever widening understanding of our sexuality. We quickly realized that areas we wanted to explore put us beyond what the Church finds acceptable, which caused us to seriously reexamine our spiritual lives. We realized that we had been moving away from Catholicism unconsciously for the last two years, and decided to formally acknowledge to ourselves that we are no longer Catholics. All this has led us to understand that we are pantheistic occultists. In the past I was a successful ceremonial magician and cartomancer (though I did not use the tarot) and look forward to incorporating those elements back into my life. I am also finally going to learn the tarot. After some fits and starts, Chaos Magic seems to be where my heart lies, so I now refer to myself as a chaos mage, chaositech, chaostician, chaosopher, etc. as strikes my fancy. I'm also something of a Discordian (hail Eris fnord) and the Tarot of the Silicon Dawn speaks to my twisted mind. As my writing might indicate, I like to talk. But not just to hear the sound of my own voice! I love getting to know people, that slow (sometimes fast) peeling back of layers of intimacy that let you go deeper and deeper into another person. For me, the beginning is the most exciting, but further down is more rewarding. The Pretty and I like the idea of adding a playmate to our lives. This would be a lady, because we both like playing with girls; boobs are great ;- D. Such play would have to develop out of friendship and getting to know each other, and if it was someone who shares our spiritual proclivities, all the better. We are also open to exploring polyamory with such a lovely individual, though we have tried it in the past, and it didn't work out. Still, I don't like to write off any possibility. So, that's a fair sketch of my life at the present. Obviously, it is just the tip. If you'd like to know more, give me a shout. I love to chat about just about anything, and especially all things geeky. If the conversation takes a turn into other directions, that can be fun too ;-)
