First and foremost, I believe, a Dominant should always be a Gentleman. Being Dominant is not a replacement for having a personality. It is just another part of my overall personality, it is not replacement for wit or wisdom. A ruffian can intimidate people with their gruff manners and abruptness. This is not Dominance, it takes more than giving orders and tying someone up to inspire in them a desire to do as you wish. Creating that desire to obey requires a subtle seduction, achieved by being both confident and elegant. A Dominant must always remember that submission is a gift. To misuse this gift is abusive. When the submissive is not free to take back the gift it is no longer a gift. It is the duty of a Dominant to watch over and protect all submissives. To teach a submissive information about the Lifestyle, to ensure the submissive knows what the submissive's rights are. It is the responsibility of a Dominant to insure a submissive knows what being abusive is.
