I help out with the unique event,The Cruel Huntresswith some great friends, it really is the most fun thing Ive ever been to and its a privilege to be involved. See our website thecruelhuntress.com for more info.

I go to quite a lot of scene events and like to think Im a friendly sort so please do say hello if you see me out and about. I have a partner who is very much part of the scene also.

I have a professional career, my own place and no dependents. I have an inquisitive mind and love learning new things - wide interests in science, technology, art and nature.

It annoys me that Im almost certainly going to miss out on personal jet packs and efficient domestic robots by being born too early. Roombas dont count, for all those correspondents who have put them forward as an example. I did specify efficient.

I probably wont be interested in you if you use the word awesome to describe the mundane. Try not to lol either, if you can avoid it.

I over-use parentheses (but Im trying to cut down). I also use I too much but its my profile so stick it.

Recently read authors

I used to have a recent reading list here but it got out of date and I cant be arsed to update it. Imagine the sort of list which would make you think Wow, she must be clever but not too clever, well-read but not intimidatingly so, and also a little bit lighthearted without being childish. It would be that kind of list.

The best stage showI have seen this year was Uncaged Ms the national science tour with Brian Cox, Robin Ince et al, really funny and interesting even though I didnt get the maths jokes. Ive been to the Uncaged Ms shows twice now and will go again on the next tour. Brilliant.

MusicPretty much anything if its live (except Jazz, bloody hate Jazz grr.)(And stop sending me YouTube links to jazz pieces that Ill really love, if only youll give it a chance. Im telling you that I wont, and it makes me want to come round to your house and Rickroll your entire CD collection. Just stop it.)

I dont watch much TVand, in fact, got rid of it for 3 years. I was sick of the dead-eyed feeling you get when youve spent an evening in front of it, such a passive thing. (Update - we got a 46 TV and Netflix so this doesnt apply as much as it used to. Im not telling you about the shameful back-to-back South Park catch-up I did.)

Art I likeJust insert the art equivalent of my imagined reading list here. Itll save me time.

Im happy to accept friend requests from UK-based people, as I help out at a couple of excellent events and I want to tell you all about them. Also happy to get memos from anyone who enjoys a civil exchange on any subject.

In the unlikely event that any universities want to use any of my profile content in the much-talked-about but almost certainly mythical studies people mention on their profiles here, please help yourself. You might just save the world with the key knowledge contained herein. I dont have an imaginary internet lawyer to threaten you with.

Do what you want with my pics - blow them up, attach them to effigies and do weird, sweaty things with them if you like, it matters not one whit to me. If you take any photos of those goings-on then please post them on Fetlife and send me a link - Ilovea bit of weird.

If you have the Sydney University warningsimilar bollocks on your profile, especially if it ends in empty and risible threats of legal action, I WILL judge you for it.
