Creating high quality and beautiful corsets at affordable prices. http://www.corset1.com.  The silk is stunning and the leather is like BUTTAH.

A hospital Administrator going through a mid life crisis who quit her job and started Ms Martha's Corset Shoppe. The intention is to find a way to serve the BDSM community by finding a way to bring beautiful corsets to them at reasonable prices.

Ms Martha has a BIG CORSET FETISH. What a way to make a living!!!

I love everyone's corsets as long as it fits properly and has a great shape. I did not want to sacrifice quality or fit in the process. My corsets are all steel boned and have a 2 inch steel busk.  ENOUGH of my business!!!

I am a Dominant and have been active in the public lifestyle for 15 years and privately for 25 years.

I am a Lady from the South. We are sugar on the outside and steel on the inside. Highly intelligent people that are comfortable in many kinds of situations are a particular turn on for me.

Big Thanks from Ms Martha's Corset Shoppe (special mention to Roger)

I know most of us are reeling over the Shock Jock infiltration at Frolicon, and the insulting on air conversation that resulted from it. Let's let it go for a moment please.

I do not want this to interfere with what I think was the BEST Frolicon EVER. I had a fantastic time and my customers tell me they had a great time too.

I want to mention a silent worker who means a lot to the Vendors. Roger runs the Vendor room. He does his job, gets there early for those of us that need time to restock. He stays until we have completed our sales and he does it all with NO DRAMA. He also vends himself. Hats off for a job well done. I certainly appreciate Roger.

The rest of the staff works so hard for all of us. Thank you to all of you.

I saved the most important for last. My customers. I am humbled to have you come back year after year to add to your collection. YOU make me want to be and do better.

I will see you next year... THANK YOU

I love this article on the corset connection website by Nancy Lynn "Why Wear a Corset".Sometimes I find myself having to answer that question for people that do not fully understand why those of us who love corsets do.Below is the article in full:

Corsets will make you appear thinner, instantly. It's true. Authentic corsets are designed to reduce your waistline, and flatten your stomach just by putting the corset on. An inexpensive corset with plastic boning will do this to a lesser extent, but the boning will not hold up to very much pressure, and the eyelets will pull out (as opposed to the steel boning of a real corset, and the grommets which are used instead of eyelets, and are much stronger). The structure of a corset will put pressure on your waist which will push the skin and flesh up (and down) and away from the waist making you lose inches in a matter of minutes. You can even train your waist to be even smaller by wearing a corset on a regular basis (called waist training or tight-lacing). Your internal organs may shift a bit while adjusting to the pressure placed on your waistline, but this is not harmful (as was previously thought by physicians of earlier times). Women, especially, are anatomically designed to allow their internal organs to shift safely. Our bodies do this naturally when we are pregnant. This does not mean you should wear a corset that is causing pain or serious discomfort, because if it does not fit well it can cause harm. A well fitted, properly adjusted corset will not cause pain, discomfort or shortness of breath.

Corsets feel good. Like a hug, or an embrace. Many people find comfort in the feeling of wearing a snug-fitting garment such as a corset, or even a girdle. Men and women have been wearing support garments for centuries and not all just because they make them look better. We like the feel as well as the function. Corsets make us feel good.

Corsets can help you lose weight. Wearing a corset puts pressure on your stomach as well as your waistline. One of the reasons people lose weight when they have gastric bypass surgery is because their stomach is made smaller, so they feel full much more quickly. A corset will produce a similar effect by putting pressure on the stomach, causing us to feel full much more quickly. Food may also digest more slowly, keeping us from wanting to eat again for a longer period of time. Although a corset may not be the magic diet pill you've been searching for, it may help you along your weight-loss journey. (Always consult a physician before using a corset for medical purposes).

Corsets are great back support. I am often approached by people who have back problems who need a support brace. The medical corsets that are available are ugly, bulky and not custom fitted. They are made of thick, scratchy materials, and adjusted by Velcro straps. They do not work well under clothing. Authentic corsets can be custom fitted, made of lighter-weight fabrics, and will create a beautiful silhouette while giving you the back support you want or need. (Always consult your physician before ordering a corset for medical purposes).

Corsets will improve your posture. Just try slouching in a well fitted corset! The boning will hold you upright, and may poke into you if you are bent over. The pressure on your tummy will support your body and lift your upper chest. (Try it pull in your stomach muscles and lift your chest pretending you have a corset on do you feel your upper body fall into alignment?) Remember: put your stockings and shoes on before putting your corset on!

Corsets are SEXY! So, now the really fun part the sex appeal. Imagine yourself, or your partner, surprised one evening with candle light, soft music, subtly fragrant flowers walking into the room slowly high heels, seamed stockings held up by strappy garters which are attached to a form fitting long-line corset nipped in at the waist snugly laced all the way up the back soft, delicious cleavage spilling over the top edge of the corset posture-perfect form smiling and breathing heavily. Well you get the picture! What could be sexier??

And besides, who really needs another good reason to look and feel good? Corsets are fun, exciting, sexy and are offered in styles ideal for any figure. They have been around for centuries, and will remain a fashion statement for many years to come.

CORSET KARMA

Though I did not do this for this website, I thought I would share this idea of mine I have started the roll balling on, in case it inspires others to share some CORSET KARMA.

In one of the websites I belong to, I started a new group called CORSET KARMA. CORSET KARMA is dedicated to getting corsets that are too big after a significant weight loss out of your drawer and onto another person by GIFTING. NOTHING is FOR SALE in this group. You may have a few that you just don't wear anymore. LET THEM SHARE THEIR JOY.

GIVING TO ANOTHER is the very best way to make sure you NEVER find those lost pounds again. It is also a way to make a new friend and share our love of Corsetry.
Corsets should not be kept in a small dark place away from the LIGHT of love and good stories.

All I have asked is that the recipient pay the shipping and relate a story about the GOOD KARMA that they felt as they wear this wonderful gift.

We ask the GIVER to post the size and a picture.
We ask the GETTER to post a picture and a story about how they felt when they wore it.

I am so hoping this idea takes off. I love corsets, and the more people that get to experience the joy of a new corset the better.

Mark your calendars!!!!!!! MARCH 5  AFPME  Art Show  (More to come)

LEATHER CORSETS, SILK CORSETS, BEAUTIFUL WOMEN AND …..

Yesterday was a first for Ms Martha’s Corset Shoppe.  Christopher (my love and partner and head lacerer) was brought out of retirement to help put 23 of the most beautiful women in Atlanta into corsets for a “SHOOT OUT”.  Just in case you don’t know what this is, allow me to fill you in.  Photographers came with their copious gear (Lights, cameras, props, models came with costumes and make-up, Riggers bring all different colors of rope and weird ideas, and some people even brought motorcycles into the space.  The space was a huge former textile mill.  The lighting and nooks and crannies and old equipment makes for great shots.

The first part of the day was spent on education.  There was a lecture on make-up.  Ms Stormy Nitghtz gave everyone great instruction on camera make-up.  Then it was time to socialize a bit and get ready for the SHOOT OUT.

The models went to dress and the photographers went to set up…

We put the models into the corset they have dreamed of owning for the shoot.  My assistant got all the info ahead of time so we could organize.  The models were very excited about getting to try on and be photographed in a Ms Martha corset.

Excited????? My first model left the lecture and said…. I want to be ready first..  So we put her in the new D RING, black leather with red leather piping… OMG She looked amazing and she KNEW IT.

I “GOT” the drift of how the SHOOT OUT works.  The models get dressed up and the photographers get ready and then it is like a MEET AND GREET, only with rope, cameras and beautiful women to shoot.  Most of the models have several “LOOKS” they want and the Photographers all shoot them.

I personally think everyone needs to “FEEL” a good corset.  If everyone was able to feel the difference, CHINA and the crap they are dumping on the market would be put out of business.  I guarantee you that not one of the women that wore a Ms Martha corset today will turn to EBAY for their corsetry needs.  They will save their good money and get something good for them and that will stand the test of time.

I can’t wait to see the results of the SHOOT OUT…. A fun, productive time was had by all.  Stay tuned for some great pictures…

THE VERY MOST IMPORTANT THING:   Part of the entry fee and 20% of all corset sales goes to BIKERS for BABYS, MY CHARITY…. More to come on this later.

2/10/2011 9:28:58 AM

Get Ready to see some of my new creations!!

I know we have been waiting a long time but they are here and… TO DIE FOR.  I have designed these with length in mind.  It could be that you want a short petticoat type of skirt to go with the matching corset… Simply cut to length and have your alterations lady serge the hems.  You can have it Ballet  length, tea length, ball gown length…. did I tell you they sparkle?  They do indeed… You want to show off those great new shoes… I have made it possible.  Look for them on the site shortly… I am planning a photo shoot as we speak..

Some advice for the curvier ladies

I am a firm believer that if you are curvier, it shouldn't mean that you cannot find a good off the rack corset for a reasonable price.  I know from personal experience how hard it can be to be a curvier lady seeking out good quality lingerie and corsets.

It is the reason I have started my business. I had a horrible time finding corsets for myself that were not major investment purchases. I strive to bring good quality corsets to more people by selling them at a reasonable price.

Although, as a final note, everyone should have at least one custom corset that is very special and will be worth every penny. There are several stores that offer steel boned Victorian Corsetry. Sizing is not that difficult and more really good stores offer a lenient exchange policy.

Hi there fellow corset lovers!

Take part in the biggest sale ever that Ms Martha has ever offered. I am designing my own silk fabrics and must get the old silks off the shelves in order to make room.

The silk over bust, cinchers and corsevest are 1/2 off my already good pricing. I will also be offering free shipping. How about that for a Christmas present to yourself or for your lady? A beautiful silk cincher for $75.00?*

The corsets are already marked down, head to Ms Martha's Corset Shoppe

to purchase today.

I love putting curves on ladies. The very best part is sharing in their reaction as they see themselves for the first time in the mirror. When I put on my corsets, I put on an even more haughty attitude. I KNOW that I will draw the attention I want to have and I know I look good...back fat and all... I have ways of covering the not so beautiful parts of me and showing off the best. Isn't that what good styling is all about?

Corsets are much better than plastic surgery...If fitted well they can put the boobage back where it belongs, flatten the tummy and take 4 inches off the waist with no recovery time at a minuscule fraction of the cost. They should feel like a good hug to wear. No pinching, poking, flipping or riding up or down. Simply put they make you feel great.

This sale ends on December 23, so make sure to purchase before then.

Best Regards,

Ms Martha

Greetings my friends,

Those of you who know me personally and those of you I have had the pleasure of meeting would have to be blind not to have noticed me packing on the pounds the last couple of years. A thyroid condition, deteriorating knees and dare I say it....laziness and self indulgence are reasons not excuses.

My physician had a come to Jesus meeting with me about my most recent labs. Her next step is to declare me a diabetic and put me on medication.

So.... I went on a diet. I have lost 25 of the 50 I plan to loose. My 2X corsets are now too big. Many of you have heard what I have to say about CORSET KARMA. My corsets have been worn and loved... I have felt beautiful in them no matter what my weight was. I have had the best boot blacks in the country take care of my leather. These corsets need a good home. I have no desire to sell them. I want to pass my good fortune and the great Karma in these CORSETS on to women and men who would find it difficult to buy one of my corsets new.

I have given away my first batch of 4 corsets that I have shrunk out of. I am so pleased to be able to give away these to people who really need them.

My goal is to be in my LARGE. So I will be giving my XL corsets away in a few months.

This is exciting for me, and allows me to be excited for other people as well who will get to wear some of my beautiful corsets.

Best Regards,

Ms Martha

Letter about woman's size and my response

I received a beautifully written letter from a man complimenting my corsets. He is in his early 40ies, motivated and (I have gotten very good at this over the years) sincere. Below please find the letter he wrote me as well as my reply to him.

Letter I received

I have great respect for you. Not because you are a dom, but because you enjoy making beautiful corsets. Corsets bring such beauty to the female form, showing off and accentuating the female hour glass shape.

I live in Charlotte and stay here because my mother is getting older and i want to stay near by. But to be bitterly honest, (and probably a bit bitter in attitude too), Charlotte NC does in fact have the largest percentage of overweight woman in the WORLD. Not the Unitied States, not in the North American Continent, but in the entire fricken world. And that is pathetic, and it makes me sad.

I dream of Pensacola and sweet, very shapely, most wonderful ladies I saw when I lived there briefly 20 years ago. Truely, the ladies of Pensacola would make great models to wear your beautiful corsets, but unfortunately MOST of the ladies here in Charlotte would not. I do apologize for the negativity in this email, it is a subject that I feel passionately about. I hope you continue to have many, many years of success making your beautiful corsets.

My response to letter

Thank you for your letter. I love to put curves on ladies. Quite frankly larger women are super to work with because my corsets can make a greater impact. I love doing the styling as well.

We all have preferences. I have always defended the fatty haters right to choose as long as there is no insult made to anyone else. It happens all the time. People are attracted to Blonds, or Women over 5'10" or big boobs, or 120 pounds and under. All are perfectly ok.

We all have things that turn us completely off. Women with Red hair, who wear too much make up, who chew gum, who wear a thong that gets lost in places you do not want to go and yet you are treated to the site... All are your opinions.

Please remember that there is a person for everyone. Even women with every negative trait we mentioned has a person out there looking a waiting to find her.

I guess your job is to keep yourself prepared for your meeting with the woman of your dreams. I think she will be impressed by your fit frame but more impressed by the way you treat everyone around you including large ladies. NO WOMAN even the very in shape ones want to think you are interested in them only for their looks. If you make the mistake of using looks as your first criteria.... you miss out on...kindness, compassion, intelligence, strength and industry.

Good Luck to you. I look forward to fitting the lady who steals your heart.

Care of your new Corset

  • Wearing a thin nylon tube top under your new corset is preferred to keep bacteria and body perspiration from damaging the fabric.
  • Always loosen the back laces before attempting to unhook the front busk. Not doing so will bend the hooks or the busk itself. You may get stuck because the center hook just won't unhook. This is VERY frustrating.
  • When the corset is removed lay it over a chair or rod by the laces. Allow it to air out before putting it away.
  • A light sprits of a mixture of one part denatured alcohol and 9 parts water will kill bacteria and odors. Mind what I say when I say light spritzing. Pretend you are trying on perfume. Spray and then pass your garment through it. In other words do not allow any spots of water to form.

If you blew it and have to wash it

  • Corsets should be aired laying flat, or hung by the laces over the top of a chair, with the halves of the corset on either side. You shouldn't roll a corset up for storage.
  • Corsets should not be washed frequently, as the metalwork, even though it may be stainless, will exhibit some corrosion, which will eventually show. The reason that Victorian women wore a chemise under, and a cover over their corsets, was so that they didn't then need washing too frequently.
  • Wash the corset by hand in warm not hot water, NEVER in a washing machine, and wash in a mild powder and in a non-biological detergent, as they tend to attack the materials. They are all right for modern clothing that aren't expected to last very long, but corsets are put under a lot of stress and any deterioration will vastly shorten its life.
    • Rinse well in running cold water - just swish around until the water runs clear but do not wring it.
    • Wrap in a towel and rub gently to remove as much moisture as possible.
    • Dry on a frame, as you would a real wool garment, and NEVER place near a heat source like a radiator, as it can warp the steels and cause uneven drying, which will warp the garment itself.
  • As ALWAYS spot check your corset to make sure there will be no damage to the fabric.

Corset Travel Tips

Thunder in the Mountains and FetishCon were both fantastic events. One in Denver and the other in Tampa makes for a lot of traveling.

Try and pack your corsets in a larger than normal space. You really do not want to bend or shove your corset into a space too small for it. Remove it as soon as possible. Often baggage storage is hot and humid....Not good for the corset. Store by the laces in a cool dark space.

If it is a bit damp when you atke it off...spritz the air with 25% denatured alkehol and 75% water. Pass the inside of your corset through the mist. Hand over a chair inside out. It will dry fresh as a daisy.

Take your Beauties out and show them off...

A corset bag is a good thing to store and pack your corsets in. I am going to have them available next month for a nominal charge.

A couple Corset Questions and Answers

Can I find an off the rack corset, if I have breasts that are a little smaller than average? I am having some issues getting something to fit me properly.

The better "off the rack" corset has a 10 inch difference between the bust hip and waist. The others are simply a tube that will take the curve off the most shapely woman. This is a standard used throughout the clothing industry.

If you are pear shaped and your middle is as big or bigger than your bust you will never be able to fit the bust properly in an over bust corset. It will stand out from your breasts allowing you to see down to where it tightens the tummy.

There are a few styles that if laced correctly can work for you. The Elizabethian style of corset can be manipulated to work. The trick is not to flatten the breasts but to harness a little moundage at the top without looking silly.

I most often suggest (even on the most petite woman) that she accentuate the waist with a cincher, get a beautiful padded bra and sheer top. This allows you to fit independently.

I have a longer torso, and I feel that most corsets do not cover my belly as much as I would like them to.  Do you have a corset that you would recommend for me?

The tulip corset that I have created was designed to be longer in the front to help cover the tummy and higher in the back to cover back fat. When paired with a full skirt all the extra is covered. What you are left wth is a smooth curve and a finished look.

Moving adipose tissue is all the corset does. It goes up and it goes down. Period, end of report. Try to get yourself fitted by a good corset person at an event near you.

There is NO REASON for you not to be able to wear a corset and look lovely.

When I wear a corset I am concerned about my back fat. Do you have any tips to address this?

First of all, please remember that a little extra squish is a part of being a women. However, if you want to minimize back fat, try letting about a quarter of an inch out at the top. You give up a bit of boobage, but you make a choice. Also, you might try a corset that is designed to hide it. Above, in the previous question, I discussed my tulip corset, which is higher in the back to cover back fat.

Another idea is to wear a sheer top under your corsets, this hides a multitude of sins.

One of the best pieces of advice is to celebrate who you are. Stop picking your body to death. You will never be happy. Feel great and smile...This is what people respond to....not your back fat.

I love vending at home. Right here in Atlanta. June 10th we started our set up. SELF is special because I was given a shot at vending there when I was brand new to the business. It is run by good people and attended by some of the best people anywhere. I am grateful for that leap of faith and want to continue to pay back as long as they will have me. I had a ball. We were able to move the store in the night before. This is a real luxury. When I have to set up a complete store and then open it for sales it makes for a really long day. I had a whole village of helpers. We were set by 10:00.

SKIRTS: I debuted 3 new styles of skirts. Women loved them. They will be up on the site by next week. I almost sold out. I love watching the ladies twirl like little girls. These skirts are circle skirts and so full it is easy to feel like a princess. I am posting photos of them on my profile.

My new assistant was there with me all weekend. I wanted her to see the whole picture. When I travel there is no running home for this, that or the other. I think she has a whole new appreciation of the physical nature of lacing 20 to 30 people into corsets in a 6 hour period with an audience. We had a great time. I know that when I head out to Denver I will be well stocked and ready to show the WILD WEST what I have to offer.

I am learning new and exciting things every day about corsets.  Not a day goes by that I am not sketching and trying to find that one special corset that will do more for me and my customers than any other.

When I was booking my year I took some Spring and Summer time off.  For the past 3 years I traveled to events and just barely stayed home enough to say a quick hello and then be off again.

I love to garden, lay by the pool, entertain, read and just enjoy.  Do I love this more than designing, running my business or lacing ladies into my beauties?  That is a question I am faced with today.  I am afraid I am a hopeless corset enthusiast.  I am really missing the events, the people, the walking a first timer over to the mirror and watching her reaction.  These things have become such a big part of my life that it is hard to enjoy my time away from them.

I have done a lot with my off time:

The warehouse (my 2 car garage) has been completed redesigned. It is much more convenient to use now. Poor Christopher has been regulated to yet another storage unit. My dream is to have a big place in the country with room for my office and warehouse in the same place.

I have a new office...Actually I took over the dining room. Christopher's furniture was sold and now I have a real desk, a real filing cabinet, a new kick ass computer and a phone and everything. I really feel like a mogul.

Amy (my trusted and most efficient assistant) has whipped my office systems into shape. I actually am not worried all the time that I have forgotten something very important. She has made life for Christopher and I so much better. Running 2 businesses from home can take over everything and make life very hard. Amy has helped to change that. I do not have corsets having baby corsets all over my house..I actually clean things up and finish the to "do list" Amy leaves for me before she comes to work here. I have always said that the best way for me to keep my house in order is to entertain at least 2 times per month. LOL

I did get the "Big Girl" Corset shoot done.  I will write more about that day in another post. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had.

I found it necessary to redesign my website because of the beautiful photography that Erin of Wicked Kitten Productions

did for the "big girl" shoot. There was no way I could install her beautiful pictures next to the ones I already had without a complete REDOO. I hope you are liking it. This was a bigger job than you can ever imagine. I am a designer with a clear vision of what I want. I am lucky to have Tina Starns from CRS Designs

to work with. She really seems to GET IT.

This has been a bit of my summer time off...I get going again next weekend at SouthEast LeatherFest (SELF)

.

You have been treated to a taste of me, my life and my corsets. Now go to my site and SHOP TIL YOUR FINGERS DROP!!

A brief history of the corset

Thank you to Victoriaspast.com for this fun bit of reading

In the 1830's, the corset was thought of as a medical necessity. It was believed that a woman was very fragile, and needed assistance from some form of stay to hold her up. Even girls as young as three or four, and probably directed by the best motives, were laced up into bodices.

Gradually these garments were lengthened and tightened. By the time they were teenagers, the girls were unable to sit or stand for any length of time without the aid of a heavy canvas corset reinforced with whale bone or steel. The corset deformed the internal organs making it impossible to draw deep breath, in or out of a corset. Because of this, Victorian women were always fainting and getting the vapors.

Women were thought of as the weaker sex, therefore their minds and bodies were weak. So the corset was deemed morally and medically necessary. Tight lacing was considered virtuous - a loose corset was probably a sign of a loose woman. To keep her innocence and virtuosity, a lady had to be chaperoned everywhere she went. She could not read or see any plays lest it excite her imagination. Even Shakespeare was thought unsuitable for ladies. A woman needed to protect herself from lustful men (and her own morality) by wearing heavily reinforced layers of clothing and tight corsets that made getting undressed a long and difficult task.

Working-class women (except when dressed for special occasions) did not go through the discomfort of wearing tightly laced corsets. They wore looser corsets and simpler clothes, with less weight. The higher up in class a lady was, the more confining her clothes were. This was because they didn't need the freedom to do household chores. Paid servants took care of such cumbersome matters.

Thanks to contributor Anders Dinsen for the following extract:
(He wrote this referring to Valerie Steele's book "Fashion and Eroticism, Ideals of Feminine Beauty from the Victorian Era to the Jazz Age". Oxford University Press, 1985.)

The corset is an interesting garment, which to most people in our modern world seems a very strange piece of underwear. We have all heard about the times when women were encased in long stiff corsets, reduced to nothing but objects of beauty, unable to perform any task. This is, however, only a part of the historical facts about that time - and about corsets.

When talking corsetry, the most interesting period of fashion is the period from 1820 to about 1910. But the corset is much older than that. In Europe, it has been in general use as an undergarment since the middle ages, but it probably dates several thousands of years back. The corset has at all times been used for shaping the body, most often for compressing the waist, but sometimes for raising the bust.

The most widespread use of corsets was in the 19th century. Contrary to common belief, almost all women of every class wore corsets in those times. Fashion was formed by the upper class, so they were the primary users of the 'fashion devices' like corsets and the crinoline, but the working classes followed the trends of fashion to as high a degree as possible. For example, the Courtaulds Company instructed its workers in 1860, that: "The present ugly fashion of hoops or crinolines ... is ... quite unfitted for the work of our factories. ... We now request our hands at all factories to leave hoop and crinolines at home." [Steele, p. 75].

A compelling question is of course, how tightly were the corsets laced? There are many reports of waists between 18 and 14 inches - even 12 inch waists are mentioned. [Steele, p. 163] However, it is believed that most accounts of these very small waists represent fantasies. Measurements of corsets in museum collections indicate that most corsets of the period 1860 to 1910 measured from 20 to 22 inches. Furthermore, those sizes do not indicate how tightly the corsets were laced. They could easily have been laced out by several inches, and probably were, because it was prestigious to buy small corsets.

So ordinary corsets were not so tight after all, and contrary to common belief, the construction of the corset with the metal busk for front closure and the lacing in the back, enabled the bearer to lace herself in. She did not need a maid or husband to help her.

Severe tight-lacing was practiced, and some corsetieres specialized in cultivating very small waists. Some men developed a fetish for small waists, a fetish which was regarded as quite acceptable. Small waists and the corset probably played about the same role as full breasts and the Wonder bra play today.

Dear Ms Martha,

Hello, my name is Lana. I was in the booth next
to yours at last weekend's St. Louis fetish event. My husband flawlessly
surprised me, with your help, with my very own corset from you. To say the
least it was an emotional moment for me. I just wanted to thank you and tell
you how much I loved meeting you, getting to experience your kind manner
first hand and gaze at your wonderful pieces. I love my SS corset and can
not wait to show it off again and again. My first corset will forever be a
reminder to that spectacular weekend. I'm looking forward to saving up for
my next piece from your shop. Thank you again, so very much.

All my love,

I am so excited today. I have had to keep the Corset Shoot a secret until the models are shown their pictures at the reveal Corsets and Champagne party later this afternoon. Almost everyone that participated in the shoot will be here to see what was accomplished.

erin has prepared a presentation that we are putting up on the Big Screen TV. I can't wait, I am so excited. I wish Ms Traci (Ms Texaz on FL) could be here to share in the joy. She is taking Ms Martha2 to the Western half of the US.

I am sad that 3 of the models will be emailed their shots just as we are seeing them here at the party for the first time. It does take a Village to get things done.. I wish I could be 2 places at once and see their faces as they see themselves the way I imagined them in my corsets. erin caught my vision and flew with it.

Make -up by Mistress Domi, Fitting help by my tofer (former head lacerererer), Photography by erin, wait until you see what she did!!! MsJuicy assisted erin and was invaluable.

This is something I have wanted to do for as long as I have had my company. Putting curves on ladies has always been a passion of mine... Now I can share a bit of WHY with you. It is an honor that women trust me enough to allow me to get them to see themselves the way I imagine them. The posture that changes, the haughty upturned chin, the sway of the hip, the delicate placement of the gloved hands, the power that goes with knowing you are being admired are all part and parcel of the joy I have in what I do. It matters not if the women are young or old, big or small, real or cross dressers, black or white or brown or blue... It always happens. Thank goodness for CORSETS and the people that wear them.

Keep an eye out. The pictures will be put up late this afternoon. My new site will be revealed later this week and will reflect the results of the shoot....

I have been asked more and more questions from people that are new to the world of corsets and corsetry.

These questions range from, what are the pros and cons of corsets?, how can I know what is a good one?, what is the price range?, and how do I know my size?, etc.

The best advice I can give people is to go to local BDSM or Anime conventions and try them on. Get advice from the vendors, feel the weight of the corset, and educate yourself.

Also, read forums and information that is out there from various websites and sources.

I am also happy to answer any questions you have regarding corsets and corsetry.

Simply message me here.

Once you are educated you can make a better choice when you do decide to purchase.

Best Regards,

I get many requests from those interested in one of my corsets who want them to be custom made for them.

I make corsets that are made to be sold off the rack. This is one of the ways I am able to keep the costs low. They are designed with a 10 inch difference between the bust, waist and hip.

Some of my designs have abit more fetish cut in that there is an even greater difference between the bust, waist and hip. This will not work for the more womanly-woman. If I fit the waist the hip is going to be way too big and the bust is going to stand away from the body.

I will suggest 2 things so that the more shapely woman can purchase an item from us that will leave you looking drop dead gorgeous.

I strongly suggest a waist cincher. That way we are only fitting the waist. You can get a beautiful bra and a lovely sheer top and then we put you in a long skirt. You will look like a real knock out because the boobies look bigger and well presented and all the other stuff is covered up.

Next consider the TULIP corset I make. I designed this one for the more womanly woman. It is longer in the front and higher in the back. This would be an excellent choice.

Now you know more than you thought you needed to know. I would rather do it this way than send you something you would not be happy with.

I have the TULIP and several waist cinchers always in stock.

Warm Regards,

Ms Martha

A review from a partner's perspective

Dear Ms Martha,

I just ordered a second corset from you for m lady. We got back the conformation e-mail from you for this, but no information regarding the discount for second time purchasers that you mentioned to us previously. Could you please let me know what that discount is, etc.

Also, we requested from you a second set of laces (replacement laces) for the first corset we bought from you. One lace is wearing thing, but has not broken yet. I was thinking that a grommet might have a sharp edge on it that is causing the wear, but if so I cannot find the sharp part. Anyway, we thought it prudent to order a replacement set of laces for when the worn one finally breaks.

I want to echo what I said to you below in a previous email. Your products are THE BEST. Everybody we talk to in person, at events, at our club, or online says the same. It is obvious to even me, a guy not too knowledgeable about clothes in general, that your product far surpasses any others in fit, quality of construction and general appearance.

Your corset(s) have really changed my lady's life for the better, self-image wise. They inspire me, very effectively too! THanks again, and I will look forward to hearing from you about that discount for repeat customers (references in the emails below).

P.S. We ordered one size smaller than last time since the "squishy factor" as you so eloquently put it, is VERY high and her current corste is laced up almost to the maximum closure possible.

Hello out there.  I am Martha Mast.  I own Ms Martha's Corset Shoppe, WWW.Corset1.com and this is my first blogging experience.  I don't read other blogs and therefore I have never commented on them.  This may or may not be to my benefit.

If anyone is out there and loves corsets and you happen to stumble across this blog please let me know.  I am going to write in it and I am going to share ideas if only for me.  You are here for a reason.  I hope the reason is that you love corsetry.

I hope that by writing about my own experiences designing, manufacturing and most importantly wearing corsets, I will inspire you to write and feed my fetish.  I want to know how they made an evening for you or made you feel like all eyes were on YOU or that night when you had the best sex ever and you know it was because of your corset.  LOL

I also want to be able to run ideas past people that love corsets as much as I do.  It would be nice to share new designs with REAL CORSET lovers first.  I need a place on the internet that is mine. Devoted to CORSETRY and the women and men who wear them.

I hope you will find interesting facts, historical references and yes, dare I say it...EROTICA.  Please share your own interesting facts and treasures.  I want to make my web site more of a shopping destination.  Where when you have a free moment you go there and look at pictures, buy a corset, read a story, buy a corset, look at some history, buy a corset, put entire ensembles together and did I mention.... BUY A CORSET.  Please don't be put off.  Honesty is what has built my business.  If you buy my corsets I can continue to do what makes me so happy.

I love to put curves on ladies.  Witnessing the transformation a corset can make in the attitude of a woman is addictive...

I am going to share a little story about a little party I had here in my home for some very new to corsets people.  I will share these stories from time to time.  I love to go back and remember..

Corsets and Champagne

I have a beautiful young woman that comes and helps me keep track of inventory. She also is a bar tender at a swanky eatery here in the Atlanta area. Over the years I have given her several corsets and cinchers. She tells me her vanilla friends are nuts about her corsets.  We had often spoken about how they would love to well...you know....try them on.  I set a date and what follows is an account of a beautiful day. We got together with five of her friends and played dress up.

I have become accustomed to entertaining outside by the pool. Plastic is the key word here for safety. This was not going to be a plastic type of day. When I started getting ready for the little party, I decided to use the really good china, crystal and silver as opposed to the stuff I would use for pool parties and the casual stuff I do by the pool. I had to hand wash everything. I set up the champagne table and used the 3 wine bottles I got from Elegant and Archer.... Oh!! Elegant has the corset cozies for the bottles ... you have to see them ... outstanding!!! I digress.... Sorry.

I started getting excited about playing dress up. tofer(he is the love of my life and heavy lifter) brought in some grid wall and we hung up some of the corsets so the girls would be able to pick and choose what they wanted to try on.  He has not been feeling well but perked up for this. Go figure!!!!!

I invited my very good friend, Domi, over to share the fun. She promised not to scare any of the young ladies. At 1:00 they started arriving. OMG each more beautiful than the next. The chatter was so familiar yet oddly like a foreign language.

I poured each a glass of Champagne and we got started.  I watched as the girls fingered the stems of the cut crystal champagne glasses.  I caught one of the girls hold hers up to the light so she could watch the bubbles.  These were very beautiful young women. I often go to events where we fit people in the middle of VENDOR ROW. No problems there. tofer came into help lace and I had to reintroduce him as DR. Tofer. He was like a Doctor and they should not be alarmed. If anyone had an issue I was right there. NO ISSUES.

The first girl is a hair dresser with her own shop.  16 chairs... WOW I am impressed with her.  Before the fitting we talked a bit about the economy and how we had each been effected. She had a firm grasp of what was needed to stay afloat during these trying times for small business owners. She picked out the Pin stripes and Leather cincher to try on. I was just a bit concerned because it is VERY SHAPELY and has a more severe cut than my standard silk cincher.  It is great for School Marm and bossy secretary play.... I chose to keep my mouth shut and let the corsets do the talking. As tofer finished the last pull and she was ready to see herself in the mirror, I was almost giddy because she looked so good. When she saw herself ... the real magic of the day began for me. It was an afternoon filled with, Oh sh---. OMG, Holy Cow, Is that really Me? Flushed faces and big plans....

6 foot tall Jennifer is next.  She is almost beside herself.  I put her in the Best Black silk.  Her knees almost buckled when she saw herself.  She must have tries on 6 corsets and sent pictures of her in every one of them to her sweetheart in Bagdad.  Pictures of my corsets helping the war effort.  I am a proud birth mother of these beauties.  LOL

Ok I decided to get a bit risky and put the studded leather halter cincher on a professed biker chick (Harleys of course).  She dressed to try on corsets.  Black leotard off the shoulder T.  She kicked some serious attitude when she saw herself in this little number.    We were all about taking pictures and thinking about how to get corsets before Christmas....

I remembered once again why I do what I do. I do it because I love it. I am blessed to be able to make a living at it. What was supposed to be a 2 hour little party lasted 4 hours. We all had a great time. A very tall KNOCK OUT of a girl held her champagne glass up and said "I am in my happy place, Ms Martha's Mall of Corsets. This is without a doubt the most beautiful glass I have ever seen" She noticed, she cared, it matters!

Domi got home and called.... We talked for over an hour about how much fun it was. I had a great day. Corsets are the universal leveler for me. They know no color, no gender, no age, no particular sect of alternative or vanilla lifestyle they just know how to do their job.... They make us look and feel ..... beautiful... powerful and appreciative of PLAYING DRESS UP.

Corsets and Champagne anyone?
