I am SO SAD right now.  The job that I thought I had so secure fell through.  The recruiter just called and told me that the dentist had decided to restructure his office and so would not be needing to hire someone after all.  If he did hire anyone it would have been me, but because someone he had that had been working part time was going to be taking on more hours, that he would no longer be needing to hire any one else.  So now I need to really continue my job hunt in earnest.  I never stopped looking but there hasn't been anything in the paper.  My checking account is down to less than $200 and I have all of the monthly bills coming due.  I'm frantic right now.

The job interview went FANTASTIC!!!!!!  I am 99.9% sure that I am going to be offered the position.  They have to fire the person that I will be replacing and that will take about a week to do because they can't just do it one two three.  They have to document all that she is doing wrong so that they don't get sued for wrongful termination.  As the dentist's wife was walking me out I told her how much I wanted the job and she told me how much the dentist liked me and that I didn't have anything to worry about and she gave me a thumbs up, so that makes me think I'm pretty sure that I've got the job when they are ready to hire.  I just have to be a bit patient.  I had an interview today for a real estate office that I would have loved every bit as much.  It was with Don Nations Realty and Don really really liked me and by the time I was leaving he had just about promised the job to me, all I had to do was meet his son who was about to take over the business as Don was just about retiring.  Well, about 4:30 I got a call from Don telling me that his son had interviewed 3 other girls that Don hadn't interviewed and that Don's son had hired one of those girls and that because Don's son was going to be running the business in his stead, Don felt that he had to go with the one that his son wanted.  The job with Nations realty would have paid me $1.50 more than the job with Affordable Dentures - not a big deal but  I will be getting over time with Affordable Dentures and I wouldn't have been with National Realty.

I just really LOVE real estate though so I'm really disappointed that Don's son won't even talk to me.

I need to end this email now as I started it last night and fell asleep while writing it.  My illness keeps me so worn out all the time all I want to do is sleep.  If only I could get the money some where for the biopsy - I would do just about anything to feel good again.

I have a job interview tomorrow for a job that I REALLY REALLY REALLY WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!  The job is for a front desk assistant in a dental office.  The pay is around $13.50 per hour, but the benefits are FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!  You get two weeks vacation, 7 sick days, 5 personal days, 9 holidays,  heath insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, prescription insurance and all for only $25.00 per month!!!!!!!!!  The job is Monday through Friday from 8 to 5 with an hour for lunch and two 15 minute breaks.  Patients are seen based on first come, first seen - no appointments are made.  I have the feeling that when I am interviewed tomorrow night that I will be offered the job.  I have already spoken with a practice manager and he was very very impressed with my qualifications, so now I just have to do the same impressing with the doctor.  Besides my qualifications being fantastic, I am able to start the job right away which I got the impression when speaking with the practice manager was important.  I would need uniforms, so I could start on Friday if offered the job tomorrow night - so that I could go buy uniforms tomrrow.  Tonight I am praying.

I saw my doctor again on the 7th and he diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia and put me on a medication called Lyrica.  I've been on the medication now since the 7th and today is the 13th, so that is just 7 days that I've been on the medication and I have to say that it is a miracle drug!  I don't have any more pain!!!!!!!!! And for the first time in forever I can sleep at night!!!!!!!!!!!!  It does have a side effect though - well, two side effects - I'm sleepy all the time - and also it feels likemy head is fuzzy - like it's floating above my shoulders.  That's not bad except when I would want to try to drive.  I really feel totally disconnected from reality and woud not want to try to drive.  I hope that after a short while that I will get used to the medication and that the feeling will go away.  In the mean time, I will just have my daughter drive me any where I need to go.

I saw my doctor last week as noted in my last journal entry.  I do need a biopsy and I need to have it very very soon.  The doctor feels that my condition is very grave.  The problem is that I need $5,000.00 in order to have the biopsy - that is the co-pays for the doctor, the anesthesiologist and the hospital.  I have it in a 401k that my late husband left me, but I can't withdraw it from there without paying huge penalties.  So I need to find some place, or some one to give me a loan so that  can have the biopsy, and I need to find the loan quickly.  I can with draw the money from the 401k in July when I turn 53 1/2 without penalty, so the loan would only be a short term one.  I would pay any interest rate, to get the loan quickly.  That is how dire the doctor said my condition is.  The doctor also diagnosed me with fibromialgia as well.  I don't know much about that condition and need to look it up on the internet today.  I have just been concentrating on trying to find a loan so far, but as of this writing have not had any success yet. If anyone reading this can help this Mistress with this loan, I will be eternally grateful.  I only need the money until July.  I will pay ANY interest rate asked in order to get the loan.

Going to the doctor today to find out the results of some tests.  I have Barretts Esophagus which is a precancerous condition of the stomach where the lining of the stomach - the cells back up into the esophagus.  I've been having a lot of pain  lately.  I had blood work drawn on Friday and will be getting the results this afternoon.  I'm supposed to have a biopsy every other year for this condition but haven't had one in over 3 years now.  I'm sure that my doctor will want me to have one - especially with the pain and nausea I've been having.

I am frantic right now.  About 3 weeks ago I had my debit card number stolen right after receiving my social security check and the thief used it to make a purchase at a store in France.  He just about wiped me out, leaving me only a few dollars.  Of course I reported it to the local Sheriff's Department.  Because the card was used to make a purchase at a store in France, the store owner doesn't have to cooperate and tell the detective where the merchandise was delivered.  The detective told me that they have called in the Secret Service and asked for their assistance, but that was the last I heard anything, which was about 2 weeks ago.  I'm afraid my money is gone for good.  I have no idea how my card number was stolen but in speaking with a dom, he suggested maybe someone used an RFID Scanner.  A thief using an RFID Scanner only has to just WALK PAST you and then he will have ALL OF YOUR CARDS NUMBERS on the scanner.  He then goes home and plugs the scanner into a computer, and viola, the numbers pop up onto the computer screen.  These scanners are readily available - even on Ebay!  My bank only reimbursed me 10% of the money that was stolen - they said that is their policy during an on going investigation.  That didn't help me at all.  It didn't even pay my water bill.  Now this month I'm trying to pay two months worth of bills with only one months worth of income.  It's making me ill with worry.  I need a miracle.

NOTE:   Very soon I will be going off line for about two weeks as my computer will be going in to the shop for repair.  This is a brand new computer - only 4 months old and for about 3 weeks now it has been doing a blue screen then physical memory dump.  For the last two days I have been in touch with the HP tech support people and we have tried several different things that they hoped would fix it, but to no avail.  So they said that I will have to ship the computer to them.  they are sending me a box to use to ship the laptop to them.  They said that it will take about 8 business days to fix the computer so that means about two weeks total by the time you figure in shipping.  At least it is under warranty so it won't cost me anything.  We do have my daughter Mandy's computer in the house, but I doubt that she will let me use it.  As soon as I receive the shipping box from HP I will make another journal entry.  I am VERY unhappy about losing my computer for two weeks.

It is December 15 and it has been in the 20's at night and only in the 40's during the day.  Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  If I didn't know better, I wouldn't know this was Florida!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It seems more like up north than Florida!  Right now I have the heat set at 80 and it won't come up over 73.  It has been like this for over a week now, but it is supposed to warm up tomorrow.  I hope it does since I have to go out and go to the doctor tomorrow.

I have just finished the second week at my new job.  The girl that was supposed to be training me quit Monday night so I was thrown to the lions without my training being finished.  Doc and I found out that for the whole time that she was there she was doing nothing right.  I expected to come to work in an office and take on a smoothly operating position.  Instead I have a year's worth of work to straighten out.  Today is Saturday and I had to go in to work to make a start on straightening out what she fouled up.  But - today I do get time and a half!  My regular rate is $13 an hour so for today I will have made $19.50 for the 6.5 hours I worked today.

Doc xray'd and examined me on Thursday.  I found out why I am in such pain in my low back.  Besides the old compression fracture, two of my vertebrae are just about touching.  Like this:

Plus I have almost no curve to my spine - a spine is supposed to look kinda like an s but mine is almost straight.  Doc can't do anything about my back being straight but he is going to do what he can about getting my vertebrae so that they are no longer touching.  Plus he said I have a LOT of inflamation in my back.  So it is no wonder I am in agony most of the time.  That the morphine and percocet don't work.

Doc is a wonderful man to work for.  I was telling him today how near sighted I am - how I need to save up for new glasses - mine are three years old.  My new glasses will run some where around $400.  He has seen how close I have to get to the computer monitor to really see it.  Today he went out and bought me a brand new flat screen monitor.  AND he told me that he will pay for my new glasses!  I have only been with him for two weeks!  He is unbelievable!  I know that I am trying hard for him, but for him to think this much of me is so wonderful!
