Naturally deferrential to Women, indeed raised almost exclusively by Women, it seems that my brand of gentility is out of date. I recently read an aphorism that men who had the highest respect for Women were the least popular with them... I can testify that kissing hands nowadays isn't welcome either, or understood. Bowing and clicking heels doesn't seem to work either! I actually tried that once.
