How time flies! I haven't logged onto CM for so long...been so busy with work, life and other fun stuff.

This past Friday my slave and I taught a class at a popular weekend conference in Milpitas, CA. Our class was "Venus Rising: a primer for pampering the Goddess in your life." It was great to see so many folks come out and add their energy to the workshop; it warms my heart to know that the topic resonates with so many people.

South Plains Leatherfest was awesome! My slave and I really enjoyed it this year. There were all sorts of fascinating workshops and friends to see.
The high point of the weekend were when our Northwest region's Master/slave titleholders won the International level contest! (I had a feeling they might win, but I didn't want to jinx it by saying too much beforehand.)
Another heartfelt moment came when my slave and I were presented with the Jack Stice memorial award for community building. Tom Stice presented the award to us onstage on Saturday night prior to the end of the International Master/slave contest. Neither my slave nor I had any idea it was coming - what a nice surprise! I just wish I had not been completely tongue-tied up onstage when we accepted the award.
A long time ago a wise friend told me, "Nice guys don't always finish last. They just don't make a fuss about coming in first."
So I'll stop here for now. ;-) |

What a wonderful holiday season! The December kinky tea party was splendid and our annual New Year's Eve party was really cozy and fun, too! I am very much looking forward to 2011.
This coming weekend I'll be hosting my monthly easy walking group for kinksters. ("Dee's Meander" on Sunday, January 9)
In the middle of the month (Wednesday, January 19) my slave and I will be presenting a workshop on how to host a kinky tea party.
At the end of this month (Sunday, January 30), we will be hosting a teaserver training workshop for those who are interested in serving the ladies who attend our parties.

This past Monday evening a new munch was launched in the heart of Silicon Valley.
36 people attended! People came from as far away as Yuba City, Fresno, Monterey, Carmel, Santa Rosa, Concord and San Francisco for it.
Folks enjoyed unstructured conversation in a relaxed yet elegant environment, where the venue's motto is "small plates/big drinks." Natural wood tones and stainless metallic elements blended to create an open and communal environment primed for people to gather and unwind. Food menu items ranged from $3 for a small basket of seasalted french fries all the way up to $20 for a NY strip steak.
Many of the folks in attendance agreed that the "Blackberry Drop" is the most delicious (and most dangerous) cocktail on the menu. Less adventurous patrons savored one of the non-alcohol specialty soft drinks, such as the tasty lemongrass soda or IBC rootbeer.
There were no formal introductions, so the atmosphere was low-pressure and encouraged people to get up out of their seats and mingle in order to meet more new friends.
Several couples attended, but there were plenty of singles, too!
I can hardly wait for the next "fifth Monday" Silicon Valley FemDom munch on August 31!

How to spot us? Look for me -- I'll be wearing an embarrassingly purple "Hamtaro" backpack (with a cartoon hamster design on the back).
This is the munch that isn't munchable. There are no snacks, no cafffeinated beverages, no inquisitive waitstaff. It isn't even a potluck! That's right -- no food!
"What the heck kind of munch is that?" you might ask.
It isn't a munch at all -- but it is a social gathering for kinky people.
The purpose of this event is to nourish our bodies in a different way. Let's take a walk together. We'll chat, get some fresh air and stretch our legs a bit. And during the time we spend together, we'll share a good time without adding calories.
No special attire is required (although comfortable walking shoes are recommended). Bring a water bottle if you like.
This is just a gentle evening walk intended for any and all fitness levels.
Anyone can do it! We will NOT be jogging or speed-walking, and there are plenty of benches every few feet for those who would like to take a break and just enjoy the sunset. This is a very small park. No one will be left behind. Even if you are new to walking, you are welcome and encouraged to join us!
(Common Sense Reminder: This is a gentle walk in the park. However, please check with your health care professional before beginning any new exercise program that may increase your usual level of activity.)
MORE ABOUT THE CONCEPT:
This event is named after a sweet lady who is no longer with us. Her name was Dee and through no fault of her own she was dealt a rather difficult hand in life physically. This event is dedicated to her memory and created in the hope that just by taking a walk together now and then, we might all stick around on this big blue marble of a planet just a little bit longer.
About the Venue: this public park is cheerful, has plenty of seating and has both an outer footpath and a shorter inner footpath (with benches every few feet). The small size means it isn't full of racing skateboarders or joggers for us to dodge. It also makes it more manageable for someone with a low level of fitness to make it around the path of their choice at least once. Parking is free along the street.
