This is a message I posted in the collarchat forums but it is "awaiting approval".

I have tried resolving this issue privately but I'm simply being ignored.

This is in regards to this thread.

http://www.collarchat.com/m_2692635/tm.htm

ModeratorEleven contacted me and said this...

quote:

Your anti-semitic nonsense is getting pretty tiring here

She also quoted an instance where I was rude to another poster in that thread, which I was. If this was a simple matter of being told off for being rude, that would be fine. I'm willing to make a bigger effort to cut that out.

But what I don't appreciate is being called anti-semitic. I find that to be a personal insult, and deeply offensive.

I messaged back...

quote:

A moderator shouldn't be so biased. Explain how I am being anti-semitic.

Her response...

quote:

I'm only biased against trolls, and we've already had this conversation before. Take your garbage elsewhere.

I asked for clarification on the anti-semitism remark and recieved none. This same moderator has told me off a couple of times in the past over remarks I've said to other posters. Which is fine. It's my own view that we don't need to be moderated in that fashion and that the moderators simply need to strictly adhere to the TOS. But whatever. I understand the need for moderators to attempt to keep things civil, though I feel my comments to other posters have been justified in debate.

But nowhere do I see that myself and ModeratorEleven (also known as XI) have discussed my supposed anti-semitism before. It's possible the messages are old and are gone now, and I've debated the Israel/Palestinian situation before. But I am very confident that nothing I have said even remotely approaches anti-semitism.

I have, however, witnessed a very real double standard. Where posters have attempted to justify the deaths of Palestinians in a very casual and cold fashion. I don't know if I've ever heard the term "anti-Palestinian", but I would say that this attitude is present among some who debate the issue.

I'm not asking for that to be moderated. I'm just saying that a clear double standard is present.

I am apparently anti-semitic simply for posting quotes from Amnesty International.

Amnesty International, who have stated that BOTH sides in the conflict have committed war crimes.

I asked ModeratorEleven for greater clarification on what I can and cannot talk about. I've been ignored.

I asked other moderators about the issue and have recieved no reply.

I have read the TOS and I have not broken it. And there is nothing in the TOS that states moderators can close threads based on their own personal biases and basically insult posters.

I didn't want to make this a public issue but I don't see what other choice I have. If the moderators can't or won't give me clarification on whether or not it is the policy of this website that Israel cannot be criticized then I will make it a public issue.

I have talked to other posters privately on this issue and apparently I am not the first victim of personal bias of a moderator. One poster tells me they got told off when they criticized Bush.

If you believe the thread was anti-semitic, please state your reasons why you believe it is. I personally cannot see it, and other posters I've talked to on the matter cannot see it.

Tell me if you think the moderator was out of line, or if I'm the one who is in the wrong, and state your reasons why.

If you're interested in me, especially if you're in Belfast or elsewhere in Ireland, don't wait for me to contact you.  Just give me a shout out.

Because of the lack of females from Ireland on collarme I rarely check.
