I'm a Christian man that believes fully in what the Bible teaches.That a woman is to be submissive to her man.

In the same way as a Christian longs and thirsts for God, so a wife should long and thirst for her husband.
? She desires to be owned by her husband; to be his property and call him ?lord?. (1 Peter 3:6)

? She desires to learn from him in silence with all subjection (1 Timothy 2:11-14)
? She desires to serve him in any way possible (Genesis 2:18, 1 Corinthians 11:9)
? She desires to be intimate with him (Song of Solomon 2:3 and 4:16)
? She desires to subject herself to him (Ephesians 5:24)
? She desires to be obedient (1 Peter 3:6)
? She desires to be humble, gentle, quiet and tranquil (1 Peter 3:4)
? She desires to communicate with her husband everything which fills her heart (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
? She desires to meditate on everything her husband has taught her (Psalm 1:2)
? She desires to praise her husband for all he has done for her (Hebrews 13:15)
? She desires to present her body to her husband as her ?spiritual service of worship? (Romans 12:1)
? She desires to reverence her husband at all times (Ephesians 5:33)
? She desires to be so intimate with her husband they will eventually be one soul (Matthew 19:4-5)
1 Peter 3:5-6 For in the same way, the holy wives of former times, whose hope was towards God, also adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands; just as Sarah submissively obeyed Abraham calling him, ?Lord, who owns me?; whose spiritual child you became when you began doing what was right and were absolutely not afraid of any terror.
adorned themselves...One may think that she should not dress nice or wear make up for her man...it is clear here that is not the case...adorned themselves,makes it clear.
Matthew 19:4-5 So then Jesus answered, saying, ?Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and He said, for this reason, a person shall leave father and mother, and he will unite himself with an intimate and permanent connection to his wife; and the two will unite, even unto one soul.?
It is not possible for any two people to unite ?unto one soul? if they are each doing whatever they desire to do. There must be one mind, one desire, one plan and one leader if two ever hope to become one soul! Just as God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one, so also must a husband and wife become one. God has set the husband as
lord (owner of property) and master (to whom the property gives allegiance) so that the wife is able to become one with him. It is important to realize that it takes the cooperation of both husband and wife to become ?one soul?, but the ultimate responsibility is with the wife. The husband?s responsibility is to bring his family into a state of oneness with God Himself. Unity is very important to God and it should also be important to the wife. In the world it is called degrading for a woman to be labeled as property, but in the Kingdom of God it is to her an honor and her responsibility. When Jesus says to a wife, ?Well done good and faithful bondslave? it won?t be for complying with the world, but rather because she was obedient to the word of God.

Ephesians 5:21-24, 33 Be in subjection to one another in reverence for Christ; wives, to your own husbands, as to the Lord, our Owner. For a husband is lord and master of the wife, in the exact same manner as Christ likewise is Lord and Master of the Church; He Himself being the Savior of the body. Moreover, in the exact same manner as the Church is in subjection to Christ, so also the wives to their husbands, in everything. Furthermore, you then who are of one soul, let every husband, consequently, unconditionally love his own wife as himself; moreover, the wife see to it that she reverence the husband.
These five verses describe the parallel between Christ and the church and establish all the requirements necessary to be a successful Christian wife in the eyes of God.
· In everything, wives are to be in complete subjection to their husbands, in the exact same manner as the Church is in subjection to Christ Himself.
· A husband is lord (owner) and master (one to whom allegiance is given) of the wife, just as Christ is of the Church.
· A wife must, with all diligence, show reverence to her husband. |
