The last of the banana pudding is on schedule to be devoured at lunch today. Hate to see the stuff go, but that is the way of the world.
The freezer has some good leftovers of things in it for the week of Thanksgiving. That will help: they're nothing like turkey and I won't have to do any cooking to have dinner while the preparations for the big feast are underway.
And let's say that the word for the week is "anticipation". |

What a lovely weekend. Lots of cooking that was well received all around. A task list that was nearly entirely handled. And the whole thing felt quite relaxed. with such lovely weather to boot. |

A new sourdough starter is sitting out on the counter. Tomorrow morning, it will go in the fridge. Then, tomorrow evening, I will start a couple of loaves of bread from it.
I had to throw out the previous one while showing the old house, because, there's nothing quite like making bread to leave a kitchen all covered in flour and absolutely unappealing to a potential buyer. But now that all that is done, I can resume bread making and other fun activities in the (new!) kitchen. |

The weekend was a success. Lots of food made that turned out really well. Refried beans, one of those simple but subtle pene dishes and a central North Carolina style slaw. |
