Youre not perfect. Neither am I. We, however, might have a better definition of the word together. Still working out the detail on what that means, but I think the key is defining the word perfect in a more mature manner. I am a Stoic, which I have discovered fairly recently. As best I understand it, and as counterintuitive as it might sound, expecting little of life seems to bring a great wave of gratitude and joy in places where nothing but trouble and unrest use to abide. Now isnt that something?

But if we can make each other laugh at least once a day make each other think twice about things we thought we knew and, go into the future admitting were just human beings who have, can and will make mistakes, I suspect we will hold onto each other and give each other, not our best selves (that can never be maintained and how exhausting), but our real ones, which is much better anyway.

I recently read that love is trusting someone enough to give them the part of you that you know they could break. I really dont know if I am that strong. Maybe its a process.

The BS level on this site is almost off the charts.  I wish people had the decency and common sense of dogs instead of Michael Vick.  All you get are emails after emails with no prospect of real contact, and no, I don't mean sexual.  I suspect that half the "women" on this site are really just pathetic guys with some weird control issue or trying to get off on getting revenge on their old girlfriend.  Then again, maybe I'm going to easy on the girls.  I find that for each bad male trait there is an equal and parallel female trait just as bad but expressed in a different manner.  Oh well, maybe I need a break from the online scene.  Good luck with the head-shavers, gang-bangers, Ghana hostages and 24/7ers.  Maybe I should try a Star Trek convention for some more down to earth balance.

So what is the "examined life" and what percentage of people lead it?  Sure, I know 110% of people believe they are awake and aware, but I just call that Bulldog ugly.  You know, Bulldogs have no clue what they look like.  The unreflective claim is almost a dead givaway of being its exact opposite.

My guess - 10% max.  Hmmmm.

Moral certainty is always a sign of cultural inferiority.  The more uncivilized the man, the surer he is that he knows precisely what is right and what is wrong.  All human progress, even in morals, has been the work of men who have doubted the current moral values, not of men who have whooped them up and tried to enforce them.  The truly civilized man is always skeptical and tolerant, in this field as in all others.  His culture is based on 'I am not too sure. - H.L. Sometimes I think that BDSM is like dancing wildly with all the extremes in counterpoint balance.  Each extreme saving the other from falling of its own overabundence, each  lacking individual balance, but creating a new larger equipoise through their partners equally extreme imbalance.  Like two dancers holding hands and twirling, each individually out of control, but together forming a delicate balance of extreme forces, only held in check by each others faith in themselves and their partner.

Other times I think its like dropping any concept of balance and entirely become one thing, like yin and yang, separating before merging back together.

Maybe both are true, only the angle of persepective changes.  So which is it, balancing or discarding balance?

A perverse world waits and wonders?

What is it with fakers on this site?  Its like a form of emotional terrorism, hitting and running with cut and paste pictures and tales of emotional trama.  Why?  Just to get a rise out of a fellow human being?  Just to trap and then trip someone so they feel misery?  Or is it just to have someone talk to them so that are less alone for a few days.  Pretty sad all around.

The worse part is that exchanging emotions, like any other good thing of value, becomes much more difficult in the presence of a counterfeit currency.  Like bad money drives out good, bad emotions drive out good ones until all that is left are cynics and emotional criminals.

To top matters off criminals, like psychopaths everywhere, like to blame their victims.  So calling them a fake, or asking for proof, is somehow taken as a justification for their lies in their mind.

Sounds like the a pretty good discription of the US today.  How'd that happen?  :I
