So I've been on this site for a while, and one thing has definitely come to the forefront. There are a lot of people out there who must be making it very difficult to respond to or trust the genuine messages.
Ok, perhaps that's a bit vague.
I've noticed a general defensiveness about many of the people I've attempted to contact. Their responses have ranged from no response at all, despite a lengthy, and very friendly, no-strings-attached, lets-chat approach, all the way to taking an over-reactive stance about a very small, mistake.
I don't blame the people I've attempted to contact, really. Well, ok, one of them I do... she was just a bitch from the get-go... I know there are a lot of less-than-serious people out there who are screwing people over, and making it difficult to figure out who's genuine, and who's not. I understand the need to be careful, and I understand, of course, that not everyone you contact is going to be interested in whatever it is that I have to offer. Fair enough.
It's a shame there aren't ways to filter out those that are just looking for the fast pick-up, and those who are here to play games. Perhaps there should be some seperate category for them, although I'm sure not many would be honest enough to put themselves there.
Anyway, that's the extent of my rant.
