Update. I went in and re-wrote my profile. Probably won't be the last time, either. I have so much more of an idea now of what I want and what people are looking for when they read my profile than I did when I first joined a week or so back.

Too many similarities for my comfort. Again, I find myself in bed sick and trolling in between bouts of homework. And I find myself feeling fairly philosophical today. I have come to the conclusion that shopping for men, Dom or vanilla, is a lot like job hunting. Unfortunately, I currently find myself doing both. Both are a numbers game, and because both are a numbers game, both can be discouraging. Both are filled with false leads, false hopes, and a bit of heartache. When you do finally make contact with a potential good lead, it's easy for things to fall thru due to miscommunications or simple lack of meeting of the minds. One party wants something the other is unwilling to give. If a lead seems to be a good fit, it's far away. *SIGH* I know I sound depressing. Just tired of things always being slightly off with both the jobs and the dating. Nothing personal against anyone.

A couple of shout-outs. I've been trolling CM today, along with a couple of other sites that entertain me. Sad, I know, but I've been in bed all day because I feel horrid. I digress... I know they frown on flaming in your journal, but what if you wanna give mad props? (Is that still a "hip" term?) We'll just try it and see if anyone gets offended or even notices. There are a couple of profiles that just make me grin when I see them. The first is BlkDom4Wht. I dunno why, but I love this dude! He's just this big, cocky looking black guy with this smug look on his face. His profile is short, sweet, and to the point. He states exactly what he wants. That's awesome. The second is MrLusipher. He is one of the scariest looking guys I've ever seen. He's got this spiked glove on his hand that scares the shit out of me, but I think he's great, too. Neither of these guys is at all my type, but their profiles are just too awesome. Keep on rocking, BlkDom4Wht and MrLusipher!

I'm thankful to the Dom who suggested my zip code was the culprit. I had a zip code listed in my account info, but apparently CM's search function didn't like it. I switched to a neighboring zip, and voila! Of course, now I'm also getting hits from Mississippi, because if I go down to 100 mile radius I'll miss Houston completely, but that's ok. :-) Just happy it works.

Why, oh why, is it that I can't just set my search for a particular distance instead of just flipping back and forth between TX and LA? I swear, the crap does NOT work. I suppose that it's because of my city setting. I would hate to put just Beaumont, because that is not exactly accurate. Geez. I don't wanna leave LA out of the love here... ;-)
