I have decided to take a half of a day off today.  In addition to sleeping in, I am going to enjoy writing a journal entry.  We are still in a state of recession in our country.  Whether you engage in the stock market, business, or utilize your skills in addition to your full time career, here is one key to success.  RESEARCH.  There are many companies out there who would love for you to "invest" with them.  Carefully look at their reviews.  How many satisfied clients do they have?  How did people rate them that "invested" their valuable money with them? The company hoping to lure money out of you will do and say whatever he/she needs to do or say to get your money.  I say, do not invest with anyone without a detailed, well documented history of success.  Even then, be extremely cautious!  Once your money is gone, you are not going to get it back!  Tell whomever that recommends the "investment" that you are going to wait until they personally have thousands of dollars in monies received from the same "investment opportunity."  Hopefully, they will have glowing proof of their business savvy and a substantially increased bank account!  Here's to a smart, safe, and savvy 2012!  Blessings, FemininaDominina

A blessed evening with the artistry of Prince.  An energetic, enthusiastic crowd was dancing from start to finish during a finely tuned three hour plus set.  At midnight, the stage rose and Stevie Wonder appeared!  He ripped into a passionate harmonica solo and then tore it up with Prince on bass to superstition!  Quite simply, an incredibly highlight to and incredible evening.  After three hours of the boogie, I happily fell asleep with a smile on my face.  Blessings, FemininaDominina

After waking from a brief, but wonderfully helpful nap, I find myself reflecting on the fragility of life.  I ran into an acquaintance today.  I had been invited to join her for dinner a year ago.  She was vibrant, energetic, fun, and filled with ideas and creativity.  I was shocked and saddened to see this same lovely woman gaunt in the face, hunched over, and understandably worried about making her rent.  She had back surgery and it appeared to me that it was not a successful procedure.  She had one of those wheel walkers and I could see all of the stress lines in her thin face.  It seems as if the issue of health has been a recurring theme as of late.  Friends with cancer, illnesses, and abrupt passings into the next chapter, whatever that may or may not be depending on ones beliefs.  I kept looking at this lovely woman wincing in discomfort and it reminds me that without ones health, there is pain and suffering with every step.  I kept her vision in my positive thoughts for her as I worked out on the treadmill.  I took a careful, mindful approach to how much I appreciate that I CAN workout! Thank you for the warm New Years messages.  Life has been wonderfully productive.  Concerts, theatre, film, and good old fashioned hard work has been my constant.  I have been enjoying great quality time with close friends.  I have enjoyed a few fun concert dates.  I have been enjoying many different types of exercise classes.  From aqua aerobics to power strength training, it has been fun.  At times, it has been hilarious when I have entered a new class.  Imagine attending a beginning class that consists of memorizing eighteen different sequences to music.  It was a mess.  I laughed it off and realized that laughing at oneself can be the best laugh of the day!  Blessings, Feminina
