The Christmas Cookies are done. I like to make one type that no one heard of, because I made it up. This year... oatmeal, bacon, maple, peacan cookies. Sounds weird but it is super yummy. Tastes like breakfast. Then I have snickerdoodle snowmen, chocolate peppermint, rocky road, peanut butter butter finger (left over Halloween candy) then I took the chocolate and peanut butter dough and rolled it really thin and layered it making pinwheels. Watching the cooking channel always gives me ideas. Oh, and lemon cookies too. Not Christmassy but those are my favorite type of cookie. Reminds me of Italy.
Now off to bed so Santa can come. Merry Christmas :) |

Left over Sugar Babies from Halloween and a lot of apples on hand has led me to create a caramel apple oatmeal cookie. Mmmm. Taking them to a friends for Thanksgiving. |

I keep thinking about a dream I had. Pretty unusual for me to remember a dream, let alone think about it much.
With much planning, time, effort and skill I made a Thanksgiving type dinner. Boyfriend? I'm really not sure... man I expected to share this meal with comes in with Burger King. Sits down with his bag and turns on the tv ignoring the dinner I made.
I'm overcome with sadness. I throw everything away and take a nap. Totally not like me to throw away food like that. Totally is like me to take a nap when I'm angry or stressed. Didn't really happen -just a dream.
So why is this dream stuck in my head? I think it's my subconscious poking through. That feeling of being overcome with sadness because all the love, energy, effort and skill that I possess and want to give is going to waste.

The lower part of the gate was covered in gates, fences, signs etc to secure (highly secure) a soccer viewing area. I watched a game there and it was fun... but all the security measures made it impossible to get a good close up picture of the gate. They all look terrible. eh. Such is life. At least there were no issues while I was in Europe (where I was anyway) and I'm thankful for that. I was also touched by a memorial to the Orlando nightclub terror victims at the gate. It's an amazing city. |

One of my favorite things in the world is crossing items off my bucket list. I did one for my birthday... eat a Maine lobster in Maine. I was not disappointed. Fabulous experience. |

It was such a beautiful day today. Spent a good part of it at the Italian Festival in my town, listening to Italian singers and eating yummy Italian food. Life is good -but would be so much better with a loving Daddy to share it with. |

I fear Paris will become the new normal. The cat is out of the bag as these 'refugees' continue to spread. Continue to come to America and our politicians do nothing. Liberal ideals have put us all in grave danger. Sanders and Clinton have now both said global terrorism is caused by global warming and our idiot press doesn't even challenge them. Bury your head deeper into the sand and enable the enemies of freedom. Don't worry, they will find a way to blame it on Bush and that will surely save you when your family and community are torn apart.

Today is German night at my house! Cultural potluck with friends. Someone is bringing the beer, of course... and homemade bavarian pretzels, spaetzel, an onion pie (hmm), German potato salad, apple strudle and I got a selection of German sausages, condiments and buns. Gonna make a German soup and cabbage dish too, they call it rotkohl. Dinner parties are one of my favorite things, and a cultural twist makes it even better. I loved the week I spent in Berlin with my Daddy... such good memories and the food was amazing. Would so love to have a Daddy.... sigh... at least today will be a great day.

At times I get discouraged looking for my Master. I tell myself things like, "It only takes One." And, "It doesn't matter how long it takes, it only matters that you get it right." But that feels less true as my birthday approaches. Life is so much better with someone special to share it with. |

So.... I have had my first attempt at cooking Indian food. I must be brave because said attempt came in a dinner party format with friends and family. All in all, it turned out pretty good. Tandoori chicken on the grill, basmati rice, grilled corn, samosas for appetizers, naan (of course) and I got some snacks at the Indian market in WPB... and chili. The market had a masala sauce for kidney beans. It looked like chili, so I added some stuff to make it a fusion Indian Chili dish... and it was too hot. Only one person really liked it. It was even too hot for me. It's a learning curve. I'll do better next time. But I have to say, the chicken fried rice made from leftovers the next day was perhaps one of the best things I have ever cooked :) |

Of all the domestic tasks for a little girl to do... I think I'm best at cooking. People tell me I'm a good cook and I always get nominated for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner, so I suppose it's true. My favorite shows are on the Food Network or Cooking Channel. I like Chopped and Cutthroat Kitchen best. Just finished making some Jambalaya and it was super yum! It would be better if I had my special One to share it with. |
