Fun kings are good too. In a DD environment its so much more than the physical. The mental and emotional aspects are there all the time. Mentally, knowing someone is in control and you are submissive to him. Emotionally, dreading the king that you know you deserve and need, because its for discipline and it will sting, but you know it will help you learn to behave. Thats the goal right? To improve on behavior and feel that authority you have given to someone to take care of you.
