As a Dom, I've been told I'm very strict and imaginatively cruel (or cruelly imaginative), but I'm also big on affection and closeness (yeah, I'm a cuddler. Got a problem with that?) and aftercare is kind of a religion with me. Been "in the life" for about seven years now. Got my heart broken badly a few times, but that hasn't damped my optimism; quite the opposite, in fact.
I'd say what makes me a good Dominant is that (a) I listen extremely well, and (b) I'm a complete safety freak. My last sub said that I was the first Dom with whom she could relax and not worry about self-preservation while we were playing -- and we played quite hard sometimes. I'm proud of that.
