THE SHADOW
A shadow lies still and lifelifeless
till a diffusion of light causes it to dance./
Within a shadow, I can see the
despair of a wasted life,/
the loathing of who it was,/ and
the fear of who it yet might be./
I recognize it's total dependence
on others for definition,/
And I feel it's contempt for
this dependence./
I taste the bitterness of it's existence,/
And i see the irony of it's extinction./
I understand the misconception of it,/
when seen at odd angles./
I feel as one with the Shadow,/
For he is me. /
