I'm in a wheelchair because I was born with a muscle degenerative disorder. People born with this disorder are born with regular muscle strength , but as they get older most of the muscles in their arms, trunk, legs, the lungs and the heart weaken. When most children reach their teens, they lose their ability to walk. I stopped walking when I was 13 and I started using a wheelchair full time since then. It's hard to explain, but my muscles feel heavy so I can't move them much.
I can't raise my arms high, but I can move my arms a bit and move my hands, I can sit up straight by myself, and I can wiggle my legs and feet, but I can't lift my legs. I am not paralyzed because I can still feel every part of my body and my sexual feeling is not affected either. I'm doing pretty well with the disorder for someone my age!
