Below is a compilation of what I'm looking for; it’s an organic, evolving poem in a way as I tend to express myself best with words. There are things I have that I want reflected in my man, there are things I do NOT have or am missing and am hoping he can compliment. I want us to balance each other out, to compliment each other through various similarities and differences. So here is what I came up with:
- Be a leader because I'm tired of always leading.
- Have confidence because I can be unsure (more times than I'd like to admit)
- Be a Gentleman so I can be your Lady.
- Be a tease, enjoy getting me flustered because I fluster easily and I like when you do it.
- Realize the importance of the arts, humanities, culture and worldliness.
- Be rough because I don't want you to hold back.
- Know when to tell me what dress I should wear because you love seeing me in it, but also know when to tell me to take it off, because you know I love my lounge pants.
- Be attentive as I will be attentive to you.
Have your way with me because I want to be had.
- Be gentle because there are times I might break.
- Like kids because someday, I want them.
- Have a way with words - you'll make me melt.
- Be intelligent and well-read so we can stimulate our minds.
- Love to travel because I want to go everywhere, do everything with you.
- Value empathy, just as I do. It's important.
- Be assertive because I'm tired of guessing.
- Realize that our brain is the most stimulating sexual organ we have - what we can do with words, with thoughts, with manifesting ideas...it all starts with our brain, our imagination.
- Be strong so I can come to you for strength when mine falters.
- Leave drama at the door - it has no place in our life.
- Be large so I can curl myself into your arms.
Adore me because I like to be adorable.
- Be forgiving because I will mess up.
- Protect me because I want to be protected
- Be my rock: steadfast, honest and loyal - you will receive nothing less from me.
- Be kind, well-mannered and charming because I am the same.
- Enjoy working with your hands so we can build things together (literally and metaphorically)
- Be funny and silly, because life is too short to take ourselves too seriously.
- Be affectionate - I like to be touched.
- Like girls who are demure and still blush in this day and age.
- Be hairy (not required, but I like it :-) )
- Be healthy because it's important and part of happiness.
- Always be ready for adventure - who knows what we'll conquer.
- Be patient - I'm not perfect, but I learn from my mistakes.
- Be primal, be dominant, be sensual, be loving, be giving.
- Perfect "the look(s)" - I want to know what you’re thinking or what you want without ever exchanging a word.
- Be classy, be a little cocky, be vulnerable, be open-minded.
- Don't be controlling, don't be demeaning, don't forget that I have my feminist side.
- And finally, wisdom is an undervalued attribute - to be wise beyond your years means to transcend what is commonplace. Look beyond what is in front of you, see deeper than what is obvious, read between the lines, be curious about what's beneath the surface. Question, don't always just accept.
