Struggling with my weight
The holidays right?
Good food and overeating seem to go hand in hand. Visiting friends and family, tables and trays loaded with goodies of all types, irresistible.
I always expect to gain a few pounds over this time, always have, always do. This year I managed to pick up 5 then went back to my usual eating patterns which, contribute very little if nothing to weight reduction. Sure, a pound over a week here and there but easily gained back.
It's easy to dismiss gaining three and just losing two over a period of time but time and the weight manage to catch up with you. I discovered that fact this year when my bi annual visit to my PCP showed me the facts, a small but steady weight gain. I knew before she said it but was really surprised when the numbers were in front of me in black and white.
Despite my overall health being okay I know these facts needed attending.
I've maintained my gym membership over the years but my visits there have dwindled contributing to my issue so I figured that would be a good place to start.
Fast forward a year...
Here I was same situation after the holidays, plus 5 with an additional 2, I had to do something, seriously.
Instead of falling back on my obviously failed solutions I needed a new route to fix this problem. I did some investigating and decided on three things, not easy ones either.
Intermittent fasting 16/8
1: Gym, at least 3 times a week
2: Sugar, this is the hard one
3: The worst is between 7 PM and bedtime, when I'm really craving sweets. The other is about 10AM till noon when I'm really hungry, but...
We're two weeks into the new year,
I'm down, 12 pounds.
