My rule is to get to know you a bit before I play. This is non-negotiable. This includes meeting in a public place first, dicussing the scene, going over limits, establishing trust, and then, if we agree, setting a time to play. I have found when I veer from this course, resentments and anger are the general result.

Ultimately I'm looking for a LTR with someone who can sub in the bedroom (well, in public too) & also develop a more traditional bond in life, while being intelligently flexible enough to walk the balance between a solid D/s relationship and an adult partnership.

I was mentored in 98, & have been active in the leather community in Seattle, on & off, for about ten years. Willing to train, and would prefer someone who, 1. has had training; &/or 2. has experimented; &/or 3. read a book on the subject.

I tend to like guys either on the slender side, flexible and fun; or on the beefy/ musc side, so much fun to dominate.

Some requirements for an ideal s: Has an accessible ass;
Is playful in and out of the bedroom;
Willing to serve at socials, whether collegiate, queer, holiday or whatever;
Is willing to be protected;
Pulls me aside if there's something I should know about someone/ something in a situation (has my best interests at heart);
Learns to trust me to push his boundaries;
Pushes mine; Makes me continue to have to learn; Yeah, you have to like rope; and Has an accessible ass.

Last week I was visiting one of my favorite haunts and overheard the following:

Apparently a guy invited a dom over to his place, the dom walked in taking control, and this ended up as a complaint.  The person who was revealing this story suggested to the guy that this is what happens sometimes and is appropriate for this kind of play.  The dom is just doing what the dom does.

I agree and disagree.  It has to do with expectations.  I mean, what do expect if you meet someone online and don't discuss formalities?  Yes, it keeps it hot.  I've lost many opportunities to play because I wouldn't just some anonymous sub come over and jump into an intense scene.  That said, I'll probably play "lite" if your willing to send a recognizable face shot and seem clear headed.  If all goes well, then we can play with more intensity.   If you want a more intense scene immediately we need to talk first.  I'm a dom.  To the degree that I have a reputation I hope it's a good one.  But if we've never met I will respect you more (and want to play with you) if you ask me questions and engage in a dialogue, which can be brief.

Yes, I enjoy tying some hot anonymous pussyboy up and fucking him as much as the next guy.  Conversely, the scene will be hotter in the long run if I get to know you a bit as the scene can be more intimate and personalized.

I like guys who are trained/trainable.  Sometimes what I mean by that are guys who are thoughtful.  For example, new guys usually initiate email to me with 'Sir' or 'Master.'  I have an unusual first name.  One guy emailed me and asked "do you prefer I call you 'Sir' or 'Night'?  I was more turned on by his interest and thoughtful question.  Here's an example: There is a well respected female dom (pity those who call her domme) in the community.  Women are always coming up to her and calling her 'Madam' or 'Mistress.'  One day a pretty-young-thing came up to her and said, "I've heard people calling you 'Madam' and 'Mistress,' which to you prefer?"  TWO POINTS: I. for observation before assuming, and II. for ASKING.  The dom's response was, ''I prefer 'Sir'."  They are together to this day.  When out, the sub is still looked upon by strangers slighly askance for calling her dom, "Sir."

How I proceed:
Generally: after e-contact, we can chat by phone and then, if appropriate, set up a time to meet for coffee, tea, or whatever and 1. see if we hit it off; 2. assuming yes, figure out what our goals are with each other and if they're compatible; and 3. if so, make a plan.
