So I've been lurking around on CS for a long time, but am finally putting a fully fledged profile on here. I'm sure I'll be updating this as I get settled in. Normal guy in my early 30's that's been living in LA for about seven years now. I work in entertainment most of the time, but have a few other gigs I've been dabbling in as well over the last few years. Work is important to me, but I've recently been trying to make it less of a focus... or at least something that doesn't take over my life as much as it used to. My other interests include the usual; travel, food, wine, the arts in general, skiing, and gambling (poker). I love to cook and have recently become much better at it. (Send me an e-mail and maybe I'll make you dinner.) I'm also trying to add more active things into my life (working out, biking... can't ski all year.) Looking for a relationship with some D/s bent, or play partners. (Trust me, I want a connection, but I also don't want to be celibate while looking.) We'll define parameters as we explore. Looking for something fairly vanilla in public and something really not in the bedroom. Moving toward FLR? Let's figure it out! I'll be updating my interests soon.

Since this is fairly sparse I'm just gonna drag and drop my profile in from one of my vanilla dating profiles for now - I moved to L.A. about seven years ago now on a bit of a whim. I really didn't think I'd like it. Now I can't see living anywhere else.
- I'm an army brat and grew up moving every few years
- Sometimes I work too much
- I love to travel and would probably do so exclusively if I had the money. Attempting to get out of the country for at least one month every calendar year from here on out.
- I'm color blind
- I keep up on politics and what's going on in the world. FUCK TRUMP, we may be doomed.
- I'm way too honest/ blunt, but I'm also one of the most loyal friends you could have
- I hate long drawn out good byes
- I love food and trying new restaurants and will frequently go out of my way to check out some place I haven't been to before
- I read the NYTimes everyday (should I switch to the LA Times? I did not switch to the LA Times.)
- I simultaneously love/ hate being alone (not in the relationship kind of way)
- I eat pho waaaaay too much
- Despite the lack of hilarity in this profile, I can actually bring the funny in real life
What I'm doing with my life
Working and spending hotel points and airline miles. My last job allowed me to accrue a good amount.
I'm really good at
Cooking. Seriously. It's one of my main hobbies/ interests and over the years I've gotten better and better at it. When I have the time, I'll happily spend two hours making dinner, listening to music and chatting with friends. Besides that I can fix stuff in your house, teach you how to play poker, install some cool programs on your computer and help plan your next vacation... really good at helping book travel now.
The first thing people notice about me
My sense of humor... or what some people think is me being serious.
Trust me, I'm joking.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read less novels than I should... newspaper everyday, but I read the Foundation series by Asimov recently, and have been working my way through the Bosch crime novels. They're pretty cheesy, but they're based in LA, which is kind of cool. I don't watch much TV, but my favorite shows over the years have been Deadwood, The Wire and The Twilight Zone (still awesome, even today). I like a lot of movies, but: Metropolis Rosemary's Baby Dr. Strangelove Requiem for a Dream Rushmore My music/ food preferences are pretty much the same... I like anything, as long as it's done/ prepared well.
Six things I could never do without
everything and nothing I've spent the last several years trying to purge myself of as many possessions as possible. Not for any other reason besides that it makes moving/ cleaning up much easier Friends.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How amazing it's going to be when I have to gain weight for a
gig... consuming only beer and ice cream and cheese for months. When did it become hip to talk about your use of Oxford commas on a
dating website? Put up pictures of yourself with tigers and/ or
fake mustaches? Write the whole thing as though you don't give a
shit about whether people contact you or not and somehow this is a
big waste of your time? I re-watch The Big Lebowski a little too frequently to remind
myself how to live in LA I fucking hate hiking... there, I said it. Everyone on this site
loves hiking, fuck it, I'll set up base camp and make
cocktails. ...also, I didn't read your "favorites" section.
You should message me if
You are 4'6" or shorter. I'm 5'7" and with your 7" stilettos I need to be at least a full head taller than you at all times. This is what I have learned from dating websites. obviously this is a joke.* *You want to go bowling and eat pizza.
  • You're actually interested in meeting / going on dates with someone from this site, preferably sooner rather than later
  • You have tattoos and/ or red hair. (Not mandatory by any means.)
  • You believe in vaccines and dinosaurs and other amazing science y based shit.
  • You know some place good to eat that's open late (wtf L.A., why do you shut down so early?) and you want to go there at 3AM seriously, just message me, I'm probably up
  • You don't want to go to a "networking" event... ugh... LA sometimes
  • You're GGG, or at least non judgmental. My favorite flavor is not vanilla and I'm on the s side, it'd be cool if you were on the D side. (This isn't a throw away... read my questions to see if you're OK with some of this.) (Obviously this does not need to be stated on CS... or does it?)
  • You find this internet dating thing strange and awkward, but you're still cautiously optimistic you might have some fun... or at least acrue some stories about dates with weirdos
  • You want brunch all the time
  • You enjoy trying new things
  • You aren't a Libertarian... I mean, I'll get a drink with you, but we'll probably just end up arguing
  • You possess some modicum of empathy
  • You're interested... I'm really here to meet all kinds of new people, so just send me a message
